Larry Fitzgerald Too Be 2010 Coverboy?
Poor Cards fans: they finally make a Super Bowl, then their best player in franchise history gets tabbed for career suicide.
There are very few ineffable things fully I believe in, but the Football Gods and the Madden Curse are on that list... and the evilness of the designated hitter rule.

I also believe in the curse!
I mean, honestly, you cant argue with that!
By the way what do you mean by “the evilness of the designated hitter”?
I know what a designated hitter is (baseball playet who only play as a batter, not a fielder), but I dont know this term…

I'm a national league (Astros) fan
if you’re going to play baseball, you hit and field! I’m not a fan of the DH rule. That may be the distinction I left out
I meant it to be kinda funny…

Gotcha!
I agree!
I like the Braves, who are also in the National League, and hate the DL rule!
Just didnt get your joke at first….

Football Gods, Madden Curse and
Chunky Soup commercial Kiss of Death…
"I throw, you catch. It's NOT that hard!"
Peyton Manning, SNL, 2007
didn't really think of the soup commercials before...
but it does apply I guess. LT, McNabb, and Hester are the only ones I remember seeing off the top of my head. Don’t know how old those commercials were, but neither of those players really had a great season since.
Oh, and wasn’t Troy Polamalu in a commercial for soup? Or was it Nike? He hasn’t really tapered off.
You can also add Matt Hasselbeck.
He was one of the players with LT in the commercials 1-2 seasons ago…look what happened to him last year. I really do believe in this one.
I can’t remember if Troy Polamalu was in one. My observance with this phenomenom started with McNabb (who has done much better since exiting the commercial)

And
didn’t Albert Haynesworth basically suck after he was put on the SI Cover? I remember him getting one sack after the Bears game and that was in Jacksonville. He got hurt, missed two games, he did OK in the playoffs against the Ravens, but he was still tampered by his injury…
until Ray Ray ripped the ball from his hands in the playoffs
and he was never the same again…

Maybe he reversed the curse
when he was featured on NCAA Football his rookie season and played in all 16 games. Atleast thats what Im hoping for because hes one of my keepers in my fantasy league. Go Titans.
