The Official MCM Kenny Britt Poll
There was a very mixed reaction here on the site when Kenny Britt was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the 30th overall pick. So here is your chance to sound off in "The Official MCM Kenny Britt Poll." Don't hide behind the poll though. After you cast your vote, leave a comment explaining why you voted the way you did. (And there will be no undecided in this poll. Don't be a sissy) We will use some of the stuff left in the comments for an upcoming podcast.

I'm now a fan
not yesterday.
But after reading thru different articles and scouts profile on him, plus some video highlights, I think this guy has what it takes to be a no. 1 wideout. Whether the coaches can develop him into one is the question.
He seems to have a great attitude. And good work ethic (as per Rod Smith). I like it.
Go Titans!
Also...
the reason I didn’t like him the first time is that I was surprised we didn’t pick Darius Butler or Alphonso Smith over him last night.
Go Titans!
I never hate on the titans draft choices because they no more than i do but 2 years ago i was excited about griffin and didnt agree with henry, last year i was excited about crazy legs but wasnt sold on jones and i was wrong cause the more i see of jones the more i love him. I know titans need helpat wr but i think they need more help in the secondary they could have grabbed butler who is great in man to man. use him in the dime this year with fuller in the nickel and next year when harper splits they already have there guy. after finnegan and harper we have nobody. I like the Marks pick tho, they can use him inside and let Jones move around to the DE postion. I would like titans to grab M. Johnson in the 3rd i would think they would have to move up to get him. I know he has a lot of haters but i think he can do what the Freak did his first few years with us
NO DJ MOORE
I am not a DJ fan i could be wrong but i dont think he is as good as everyone was making him out to be and apparently NFL teams dont either
my problems with the pick
leaving darius butler on the board. once we added nate washington, i think CB became a bigger need than WR.
people question this guys effort A LOT, as in basically every scout review i have read.
i also see basically no chance this guy is anything but a possession receiver, which makes dropping the first rounder on him even more strange in the face of greater need. i even found one site that said he would struggle in the nfl in anything but the west coast offense. yikes!
he’s big and strong and apparently likes to dish out some punishment on blocks, and he shows good potential as a route runner, but the questions about his hands and work ethic have me worried.

Heimerdinger spoke to Rod Smith...
who was working out with Britt. Smith spoke very highly of Britt’s dedication and work ethic. If it’s good enough for Dinger, then I’m not worried.

I guess
I don’t see a lot of these flaws… Maybe I’m blinded by rooting for a local product

I voted no, but ...
it’s a mixed bag. I am a fan of his size, strength and blocking ability, but his drops and questionable hands pretty much leaves us in the same boat we are in already.
I think the best use for him is as a downfield blocker for CJ.
Hate the pick
He’s going to have to become a legit #1 or #2 WR in the NFL for this pick to be a success and I have no confidence that will happen…..
we should have went with the safe pick and drafted a defensive guy……
this pick is no different than the Chris Henry pick…..
i’m still sick to my stomach after all the anticipation yesterday and then us taking a WR who historically has a very high percentage to be a complete stinker………..
ugh…
love the 2nd round pick though….
on day 1 we should have came out of the draft with a CB and DT……..we need to start thinking about who replaces Harper next year or this year after he gets hit in the head again…
Hate the pick?
No confidence he can become a legit #1 or 2? Why is that? Just curious what makes you say that…
What CB at that point was a safer pick?
No different than the Chris Henry pick? How is that? Britt has had a very productive college career, Henry did not…

Love the pick
The main problem with our wide receiver pick in the past is that we seemed to perpetually take guys who couldn’t figure out where to go. Britt is perhaps the best route runner in the draft; he’s a smart guy who I think will be a quick study of our offense. He blocks well, he can go up for balls, and he’s reasonably fast for a big guy. I think he’s got the best chance of any WR pick we’ve had in the last 5 years to become a true #1 and a star receiver in the league.
As for his work ethic, I seem to be hearing very conflicting reports, so I’m not willing to write him off as lazy or unmotivated. As of right now, I’m willing to give Rod Smith the benefit of the doubt.
Keep in mind, Britt was putting up good numbers at Rutgers. With Rutgers QBs throwing to him. His highlight reel shows him constantly diving after errant throws. I can’t wait to see what happens when he has balls actually thrown to him in stride.
Nobody watches
this guy and sees a bit of a taller Boldin?

Don't always believe the scouts
As a Rutgers fan who watched Kenny Britt for 3 years, I can tell you that the only criticism of him that I’ve heard that has some validity is the criticism about his hands. Talk about “character issues” and “work ethic” generally have the people on the Rutgers boards scratching our heads. Schiano doesn’t recruit and has very little tolerance for players that have a problem with either. I will be very surprised if either one ever becomes an issue.
Keep in mind that one of the comments we heard from at least one scout last year about Ray Rice was that he had questionable durability—something that was exactly the opposite of the truth. He never had any significant injuries during a college career that saw him carry the ball 910 times in 3 seasons. I suspect that because Rutgers is still not a blue chip name on the college recruiting circuit that a lot of scouts are not spending as much time observing our players as they should be and so don’t really have all the facts.
I like the pick
BUT I want to see this dude in action first. he makes some great catches and runs some great routes and that’s exactly what we needed. but seeing as the Titans NEVER take a WR this early, it will be interesting to see how he pans out. I hope that Dinger gets this dude up to speed and he can make an immediate impact. I question the Titans alot when they draft, but they usually prove me wrong. so I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. let’s see what this dude can do.
War Eagle and Go Titans
mixed emotions
but I voted yes cuz i’m gonna give tha front office tha benefit of tha doubt. its not usually their style to reach for picks based on needs so i’m gonna assume that Britt was fairly high on their board and they didnt just take him b/c he was tha only 1st round WR prospect left. I know a few people had him ranked fairly high and I think I remember someone sayin yesterday that Sporting News had him ranked as tha #2 WR behind Crabtree, so we’ll see how he pans out. hopin for tha best!
You're not foolin me Kerry Collins.
At first...
I wasn’t ecstatic. I was literally cursing at my television when the Giants took Nicks. But after watching his highlight reel (granted, it’s all going to be good, so take it with a grain of salt), he seems like the kind of guy that takes hits and keeps chugging. He was falling forward in all but a few of those plays. I’m warming up to the decision.
I like it, but not 100%
But I don’t think it’s possible to be 100% about a 1st round WR pick anymore.
How about his production?
Kenny Britt produced..period. He is the alltime Big East receiving leader. 14 100 yard games. Caught 87 balls last year. I submit if you have the ball thrown at you that many times you may drop more than the guy that had 40 catches.
I love this pick…especially if Fisher / Dinger / and Rod Smith do. How can I question that?
Throw in N. Washington / scaife…and now Jared Cook? I think Jared Cook will be a huge down field “big play” guy. 245 lbs / 4.49 40 yd dash? are you kidding me?
I’M EXCITED!!!
