I have a gut feeling
I have a gut feeling that the Titans are going to make a play for either boldin or Edwards.
I'm even more convinced that they will after reading MR's comments. My guess is it's Edwards. If the Browns draft say Crabtree then they look to move Edwards.
I would think our 30th and a 4th rounder makes the deal. being that we pick 30th it's like a low 2nd rounder in this years draft. You could argue that anyone selected above the 16th 17th spot could be a 2nd round pick.
But that's just my gut feeling

drops
Edwards drop could have a lot to do with the team and coaches around him. This Team and Coach Fisher/Dinger will demand more of him and result in more focus. He won’t want to let the team down

If that's the case
then why have all the guys we have had over the last couple of years drop it like no other?

Lack
lack of talent?
I don’t know.. I just get a strange feeling they are going to attempt to make a move this year for a trade
by white02slpss on Apr 22, 2009 8:59 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Oh
and other than last year a very inaccurate QB made the WR’s look worse!
Another thing that just makes me feel they are going to make a move is because of the passing of Mrs. Adams. I think Bud wants to see another trip to the Superbowl much more urgent now

Goes both ways
Can’t really blame “inaccuracy” if receivers let balls clunk off their hands (or go right through their hands). Balls won’t always be perfect; if you’re paid to catch it, you better go get it.

ESPN Radio has been reporting
that the Browns have taken Crabtree off their board after his visit with them.

I agree
MR has been dropping hints for a couple months that they want to add playmakers. I believe he will…… I just get a good feeling from MR in general.

Define Playmakers.
Maybe the Titans wouldn’t choke in the playoffs if they had more playmakers. You let the Ravens, led by a rookie come into your house and physically kick your ass. You guys should have known that you can’t out muscle the Ravens(unless your the Steelers). Playmakers would have helped. That game should have been turned into a shoot out, where Joe Flacco would have struggled. But instead, you lose on your own turf in the playoffs. What a bunch of losers.

Actually the Ratbirds said themselves that the Titans kicked their asses up and down the field.
The stats showed it and their walking wounded showed it.
The only thing the Titans couldn’t do was protect the football, and it cost them.
Not to mention the Ratbird hit on Chris Johnson. Who was our best playmaker.
Seriously, we know that you Bedazzler fans are not going to follow our team as closely as you follow yours, but don’t come on our site and spew falsities when you don’t know what you are talking about.

Sure
You can say the Titans played physical enough… But they lost the game didn’t they. Part of physicality is forcing fumbles, which Brian Leonhard did on the goal line. I watched the game bro, I saw Ray Lewis and Bart Scott lay some nasty hits. I didn’t see any Titans lay some hits. I saw Chris Johnson get twisted around by sissy ass Ed Reed(even as a Jags fan, I’ll agree that was a cheap ass shot).
I didn’t see the titans going up and down the field either. It was a physical game, but the Titans sure didn’t dominate it… which is indicated by the score.

Well,
we cant argue with you about losing. As a Bedazzler fan you prolly could write your Phd. thesis on losing. You should get " Born to be mediocre" tattooed on your chest to cover up the “I love Byron Leftwich” tattoo.

Yo Man
You back… Maybe you should get back to work; as you are typing this on your dinner break at Burger King on an Iphone that you found in the gutter looking for Viagra at the strip club. Its troubling that you have your “I love Vince Young” tattoo on your back, but the guy busted and now you are trying to think of something good about the Titans to put in its place. But you can’t think of anything worthy, because the Titans suck…

Boldin is out of our price range.
While Edwards to the Titans might seem unlikely to most(myself included), the more I think about it, it sounds like something the Titans would possibly do. But I dont think our FO is going to come off of the 30th pick. Maybe our 2nd round pick and a conditional pick next year. The conditional pick could range from 2nd to 5th round in 2010. Edwards did drop nearly everything last year, but in ’07 he was unstoppable. Randy Moss caught 23 tds that season, Edwards caught 16. We only had nine td passes total in ’07, all by VY. Kerry Collins only threw 12 td passes last season. Six of his td passes were to Gage. Hall and Scaife both caught two. Edwards caught three tds last season. That would have been second on our team. His 873 yds would have led our team by 222 over Gage. Only Scaife had more catches(58) than Edwards(55). And Edwards had a bad year! If the Browns do draft Crabtree and look to move Edwards, we all know what it will come down to. Money. Edwards has a lot of upside. If he would sign a contract worth 50-60% what Boldin is looking for, then I think we would pull the trigger. Otherwise, it will never happen.

NO
What we pay Boldin is what we would end up paying our first two picks
by pigskinpundits.com on Apr 24, 2009 8:37 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
not true
boldin may be looking for up to 10 mil a year. no way the #30 and #62 add up to 10 mil a year, not even close in terms of cap value.
say we take a CB #1. last year antoine cason was drafted #27@ CB by the chargers. his signing bonus was 2.1 mil, base salary in year 1 was 300k, and he made another 1.8 mil in roster bonuses. his total cap value was only 1.126 mil in year 1.
we picked cj @ #24, and his cap number was only 1.2 mil this year. boldin will be much more expensive.

I will say this
You should listen to the man who wrote this fanshot. A little history lesson:
White has been reading this blog since the days when the only other people reading were my dad and one of my best friends from college. All 4 readers plus myself spent most of the offseason leading up to the 2007 season ripping the D Line. White came on here everyday and defended them. Well he turned out to be right with Big Al and Boom King being All Pro and the likes of Tony Brown, Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy having career years.
Just so you know..

HMMMM???
http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090423/SPORTS01/90423072/1027
I’m not too good with links… so I hope that works..
“At a press conference today to discuss this weekend’s NFL Draft, Reinfeldt once again spoke of the possibility of the Titans trading for a receiver and — without naming the player or team — said discussions have taken place.”
What is VERY interesting to me is the lack of “denial” that comes with supposed rumors!
by white02slpss on Apr 23, 2009 6:22 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Just wow!
I agree – that is significantly more comment/hint than we’ll typically ever get about a player from this team/staff. The mere confession that they have been talking to “unspecified other team(s)” about acquiring a WR via trade is a shocking amount of information!
This is FANTASTIC news. I hope, with all of my heart, that the Titans complete a deal for Boldin. It would be a shockwave sent through the division – and – the AFC and NFL in general. Acquiring a player of his caliber is the kind of locker-room confidence boost that can bring a team to the next level quickly.
P.S. You should really make that article a fanpost!

Go ahead
Go ahead and make it a fan post if you want..
I really think Mr. Adams wants to make a move. I think it happens that when someone loses someone close to them that they start to look at life a bit different. I believe that the Titans think the window for a SB for Mr. Adams is now. We have a team that has an aging Defense. Collins, Bulluck, Harper, Kevin, Kearse, KVB and Thorton aren’t getting any younger and Mr. Adams probably doesn’t have time for VY, Drafted WR, and other DL to develope before the window to win now closes.
Take into account that DL in general don’t last long. So how much more time is Brown going to play at a high level..
oh well.. I’m rambling on now

Our front office almost said something.
