Torry Officially a Jaguar
NFLTA, Steve Wyche~
State Torry Holt signed w/ the Jags for 3 yrs/20Million dollar contract...
Oh my, they think he has 3 years left???
I don't know about that, just over 6 million a year w/ incentives I'm guessing.... Don't really think he is worth that.
And will he definately be their number one receiver..? I really can't think of any other receiver on their roster...
Will he be a threat to the Tennessee Tiitans?

AARGH
This is disappointing. Now PLEASE get a first round WR this weekend. I’ll get on my knees and beg if necessary.

STICK A FORK IN HIM HE IS DONE.
HOLT HAS NOTHING LEFT. LOOKS AS THOUGH HE WAS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP. HE MADE THE DEAL WITH THE JAGS. GOOD FOR HIM. IT SHOULD BE AN EASY TRANSITION FOR HIM COMMING FROM A LOSING FRANCHISE AND GOING TO ONE! GO TITANS

Funny part is, Torry Holt owns a ring thanks to the Titans. Talk about a double kick in the balls. hahahahaha

Holt has nothing left?
Name a WR on the Titans who’ll have a year anywhere near as good as Holt will have.

Nate Washington is a one trick pony. He’s a carbon copy of that hack in Minnesota, what’s his name…oh yeah, Bernard Berrian. As for Gage, meh, he seems alright, but he’s definitely not better than Holt.

I hope you are not right about Washington.
But Torry Holt is not the answer. To any question the Titans are asking.

I don't care if you are right about Washington
If he is “one trick” is running really fast a long way down the field and catching the ball, that is exactly what the Titans need.

Berrian
had 4 100-yard games and 7 TDs with very very very shaky QB play. Id take that kind of hack in Nashville anyday.

Just your team reached the playoffs after AGES does not mean you are all of sudden in an other level. ANd by the way how many games you won in the playoffs?
At least when we were there in the ‘07 playoffs we kick current Superbowl champ Steelers ass in Heinz field. Don’ t forget that…

Didn’t win a game, but 1 year isn’t exactly ages. I will take coming off a 13 win season to your season, where all of the talk in the opening game was about how the Jags were ready to un-seat the Colts, any day of the week.

I wouldn’t start a fight about that. Collins used the oppurtunity and lead the titans all year long. He deserved that chance. To be honest he is beter QB than Young based what i saw about the 2 QBs so far.

Oh sorry
You’re right I forgot it. I was a little bit angry about that attitude, that the “Jaguars are not at the same level at the titans”. I don’t like to take cheap shots to each other teams as well. I’m not a trash talk guy. I wouldn’t say that even for Detroit if we were in the same division. Everyone deserve a little bit repect from each other.
And once again sorry about my mistake about the Titans and playoffs.

Cmon! Enough about WRs already!!!
What is with all of you! Draft a WR! Are ya kidding me? There will atleast four wide receivers drafted by pick #30! W/ newbies Washington & Jones; we can wait until round 2/3 for that position. Our first pick should either be MLB James Lauranitus/ Ray M. (USC) if they miraclously are available. If the future star ILBs are gone then go with Butler, Davis, Jenkins. The Best CB on the board. Harper is dead weight as is Crumpler. So expect a TE and a C eventually. Any DEFENSIVE PICK I will be happy with! No WR First Round Please. Crabtree, Maclin, & Harvin have potential but will NOT be available. Hey-bey & Nicks are not worth the pick. Pick CB/ ILB/ DE FIRST PICK!

Gage is better
If you compare there stats from last season Gage definitly was better…
Gage – 34 Rec / 651 Yards / 19.1 Avg / 6 Tds
Holt – 64 Rec / 796 Yards / 12.4 Avg / 3 Tds

only braylon edwards was less valuable among players targeted 110+times last season
despite being targeted 119 times last season (we targeted gage(79)+jones(62)= 141 times last season) his overall value (DYAR) was 67th in the league, compared to gage 31st and jones 47th.
his value per play (DVOA) was 11.4% below the league average. gage was 6.7% above league average in terms of value per play.
no contest who was better last year.

it's hard to compare Gage and Holt when
Marc Bulger spent most of the season on his back
don’t be sour grapes towards Holt going to Jax, if he signed in Ten you’d be sweating his sack and you guys know it.

I would think...
….by being, unquestionably, a #1 WR he would be a player worth signing for a team in need of one.
But he’s gone, and that’s that. I just think there are going to be a lot of folks “shocked” by their own denial when Tory Holt does not put up a career low year in Jacksonville and become a non-factor, John Q. Receiver. He will produce – obviously not like “The Greatest Show on Turf,” but he’ll be worthy of the contract he signed, which ain’t huge.
He’s still got a couple of good years left, and I think he would have pretty clearly been the Titans #1 WR. But the reality is, the Titans will face him, not wield him, on the field for the next couple of years. So in that respect, I hope his ankle starts bothering him directly……

I hope he makes Cortland Finnegan look like a girl
So, after one bad season, Holt has lost his game, eh? Forget about the 8 consecutive seasons he had of 1,000+ receiving yards. He’s clearly lost a step because he was barely shy of 800. Anyone realize the guys been producing year in and year out with a horrible team?
Maybe if you guys acquired a quarterback that had more skills than your mediocre middle-aged starter and your two 1st round busts, you’d have a passing game.
See you soon when we whup that ass, crybabies.
Oh, btw, Justin Gage is so much better than the 1st ballot future HOF we just signed. Sure is….

So, I didn’t know the Titan’s fans were a bunch of holier than thou, my momma paid for me to go to private school, wusses.
Wanna brag about being a Presidential Scholar on an NFL blog site? Gimme a break. I’ll leave you guys alone.
Analyze drafts from 1957 and come up with a mathematical formula to merely speculate on who the Titans might be best suited to draft.
Maybe I am looking for a fight, because I met a guy today, who unlike most of you, is actually a pretty funny dude. Yet, you would rather shun him for his differences than accept him, because his IQ isn’t high enough…or better yet, because he’s much better at witty, clever comments than half of you Ivy League schmucks who would rather play WOW than talk to a cute girl. I’m done.
By the way, if I was looking for a fight, it wouldn’t be through a GD blog. You’d know it. However, I’m not. Because you crybabies aren’t worth my time.

I wouldnt say we are all Presidential Scholars.
I would just say that our football knowledge, in comparison to a Jags fan, is that of a presidential scholar. Its amazing how Jag fans are so happy to have signed a player that had a season high of 90 yards in week 17. Meanwhile, our one trick pony Nate Washington had 94 and a td against Jacksonville. If you want someone to compare with Holt, then why dont you find someone who makes the same money as him. And that person you will not find on the Tennessee Titans roster. But you will find receivers that put up better single game numbers than Holt last season. Who cares that Holt had all these great seasons in years past? This is now. Too many times teams overpay for a player for what he HAS done, rather than what he is capable of doing for their team. Do you honestly think that Jacksonville will be able to target Holt enough for him to match the numbers of his past? Its not going to happen. Im happy we stayed away from him for the fact that the impact he would have had on our team would have been miniscule in comparison to the money he would have been making. So go ahead and talk all the ISH that you want to Jag fans. But the joke is on you.
