Chris Simms Signs with the Denver Broncos
As Rhino mentioned, Chris Simms agreed to a contract today with the Denver Broncos to back up Jay CUTLER!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!!!!!!. IMO this is good news for Titans' fans. Simms is a servicable back-up, but while you can't question his toughness after playing with the ruptured spleen, I have serious doubts that he will ever be much of an NFL quarterback. The Texas fans are probably going to kill me for this, but he really wasn't that good of a college quarterback. It would have been a terrible mistake to count on Simms being the QB of the future.
Now it will be interesting to see if the Titans go after another quarterback or if they are content with Vince Young being the backup. That will go a long way in proving if Jeff Fisher really thinks Vince will ever play for this team or not.

Yeah he was never going to be our franchise quarterback
so losing him to the Broncos isn’t a huge deal. Like Hal said in the other post I’m sure we’ll draft a QB in the middle rounds of the draft

I suppose it depends on what you mean. He was better than any of the quarterbacks coming out of the draft this year in college.

I don't think many Texas fans will be pissed by that, Jimmy.
He took a lot of heat for his inability to beat OU and his meltdown in the Big 12 Championship game. A win in that game would have gotten us into the MNC.

That is probably true,
but that isn’t saying that much. Stafford is terribly overrated, and Sanchez is a huge question mark.

Maybe Stafford will fall to us.

That would work for me.
Sanchez es no bueno!!
Seriously, I wouldn’t want the Colts to draft him. I would rather stick with Sorgi – now, that’s saying ALOT!

My bad.
I could have sworn I read Sanchez.
Ok, I’ll go away, now. :)

You underestimate the bitterness and anger Longhorns fans still have towards him
To be objective, Simms WAS a good college QB. He just never delivered on the big stage and often flopped horribly (’01 Big 12 championship game). Thus, fair or not, he was judged by those failures and was mercilessly criticized, especially since he took the place of the beloved Major Applewhite.
So, don’t worry about angering Texas fans. Many would agree with you, and even those who disagree wouldn’t quibble much about it.
