Patrick Ramsey Is Coming For A Workout, Should VY Be Worried?
Paul Kuharsky has the news and gives us his thoughts in its wake:
Whether they sign Ramsey or not, I am reading into the visit: With Chris Simms gone to Denver as a free agent, Young is not entrenched as the No. 2 and his future with the team, or at least his standing as a Titan, remains very much up in the air.
I'm not fully going with PK on this one. I think bringing Ramsey at this point in isn't much different from Ingle Martin or Tim Rattay, even if Ramsey was once a 1st round pick. Whatever potential Ramsey had as a starter appears to have been beaten out of him by playing behind Steve Spurrier's dubious pass protection schemes. If the Titans were bringing in Jeff Garcia or Byron Leftwich, it wouldn't be a stretch to call this an indictment of VY.
Still, it's hard to call this a ringing endorsement...

I dunno
The Titans in the past have been a two QBs on the roster team. I think the fact that last year they kept three and this year looks like they’re still thinking about keeping three, or at least offsetting the decision to cut back to their normal 2 until camp makes it pretty clear they aren’t sold on VY being ready.
meaningless
in fact i’d say that spending money to keep simms would have been a bigger indictment since they have praised him in the media and other teams were actively pursuing him. we will definitely have at least 3 qbs in camp to distribute all the passing reps from having so many more guys than during the season. looking at low-priced nobodies doesn’t say much to me. if they bring in a guy who has ever looked like a good nfl qb at some point in his career, then we can bash vince with it.

haha good point SuperHorn
I hope to god VY can figure his s@#! out because it will set our franchise back a great deal. Collins might be able to do a decent job for one or two more years but he doesn’t have any long upside. And with no other QB on our roster that means will will either have to draft another QB and train him or get one of the free agent QBs out there right now, not goooood.
Cortland Finnegan is a beast
Ehh... I just want them to field a good team.
At this point, I’ll take “best available” for my back-up QB.

if we didn’t already have collins, sure.
