Torry Holt
Check out this news from rotoworld:
St. Louis reportedly could've gotten a first-rounder for Holt at last October's trade deadline from an NFL team "believed to be" the Titans. The Rams balked at the offer, as interim coach Jim Haslett was trying to win games and keep the full-time head job. Pace is coming off a better season and is more valuable property than Holt now. However, St. Louis can double its salary cap space from $14M to $28M by moving both players by June 1. There is a good chance that Holt will be cut because of a high cap number and I think the Titans will try to sign him.

How is his knee?
His production was down last season, but their offensive line was so bad it is hard to comment on how Holt played.

and he had Trent Green for a QB didn't he?
Where I was raised 2 + 2 = 3rd and 6.

I'm glad they didn't make that trade.
There is NO WAY IN HELL that Tory Holt would have provided even half of what CJ provided, and that’s what the Rams were asking for.
The Titans do need a WR. They do not need an old, broken down WR whose knees are worse than mine.
Besides, is it really gonna matter? It’s looking right now like FA is gonna be a total failure on all fronts. I mean, seriously, there’s no need to draft a WR if we don’t also have someone on the roster who can throw to the team with the blue jerseys.

That would have been this year's first rounder
not the CJ pick.

Okay, fair point.
But still… these guys have been doing pretty well with the early round picks.

I agree with this as it relates to Kerry. I’m not sure that Vince is the the guy, but I know that Kerry is not. There is no sense in upgrading at WR if we’re just sticking with the “game manager.” Kerry is one of the best in the league at minimizing turnovers. All other aspects of his game are merely average, though.

if we were even contemplating a #1 pick for holt for 2 seconds
boldin should be a really, really easy call for us, if he becomes available at that price anyway.

Holt should be cut
It appears Holt will be cut due to salary cap reasons. So there are two scenarios for the Titans at WR:
Sign Holt (2 years 10M), sign a mid level free agent (McDonald, Furrey, Brandon Jones, Bryant Johnson) and draft a WR #1 or #2
or
Trade for Boldin (1st, 3rd and 6th round picks and sign to a long term deal 5 years 55 million with 22 million gauranteed) and draft a guy in round 4 or 5

Ignore Holt, resign Brandon Jones, and finally take a WR in the first round.
Easy pie.

No way we give a 1st, 3rd and 6th for Boldin
Are you crazy, we just need to get better younger players at the WR position by drafting a WR in the 1st round Hakeem Nicks or Percy Harvin, because we all know that Maclin and Crabtree won’t be there. I personally would take Nicks, i watch alot of college ball and got the chance to see him play atleast 4 to 5 times this year, he is a monster, looks like a younger version of T.O. but without the big head, from what i’ve heard he has a good head on his shoulders, which matters most to me because of the Pacman fiasco.

Holt is getting old
The highest I would give for him is a third rounder. I think it is time for us to suck it up and draft a WR in the first if Hakeem Nicks or Darrius Heyward-Bey are there at our pick.

Good Point
Didnt the Pats get Moss for a fourth rounder? Is Holt really worth a 1st? He’s getting old and his production is dipping.
