Haynesworth Contract
Two weeks ago I posted that I thought the perfect contract for Haynesworth would be 6 years 78 million with 36 million in gaurantees.
Now this from rotoworld:
The Titans have reportedly been offering free agent Albert Haynesworth a deal in the $36 million range over four years during negotiations. Hahahaha. Haynesworth wants a six-year deal worth at least $72M. While we can't fault Tennessee for hesitating to pay a player league-record money when he's only met expectations in contract years, they can't be serious with this offer. Haynesworth is going to break the bank two Fridays from now.

negotiation skills
according to all the negotiation books i’ve ever read…(i’m in medical sales) rule #1 is “Always ask for more than you think you will get” i.e. 4 years 36 mill. Reason being …..you just might get it. This is a smart move by the titans. They have room and money to counter offer. You can always come back with more money …. but you can’t take money off the table.
Now I suspect Alberts agent said the classic “you’ll have to do better than that” ….and thats ok….even though we all know the 36 mil was ridiculous….you still have to make that offer…..because in negotiations you never….never….ever assume what the other sides willing to accept.
Everyone relax…this is just the dance. We may lose albert but I bet we will make a good offer to him in the end.
FYI…Power Negotiation by Roger Dawson is a great read. Great for my job and also when I’m buying furniture or a car or anything :)

not even close
4 years 36 mill is a go-away offer.
You need to read some books that help you grasp reality a tad better, methinks.
