And maybe he should be. Because "icon" begins with the letter "i" — just like "interception." And just like "I quit." And please oh please let him stay gone this time. The sport will somehow survive. Although, typically, a headline on ESPN.com Wednesday informed us "the NFL won’t be the same without him."
No, it won’t. There’ll be fewer interceptions and much less gushing. And the thought of it makes me want to cry happy tears.
From an article that calls Brett Favre the most overrated athlete of our time. Good article except the part where he calls Ryne Sandberg overrated.

Ha!
“Put it this way: If you added Peyton Manning’s and Joe Montana’s INTs together, you still wouldn’t match Favre’s massive total.”
Favre’s a tool.

Good read except for the part where he says Warner is better than Favre
that’s one of the dumber things I’ve ever read and bespeaks a small-minded anger.
Besides, the both suck compared to the real greatest QB of all time: Joe Montana.

Nolan Ryan
You had to know I was going to respond to that…Why does everyone think he was overrated? No one calls him the “greatest pitcher ever”. No one even calls him “the greatest right handed pitcher ever.” He was just a beloved fan favorite who threw hard struck out a lot of people. He was very good and worthy of the Hall of Fame. A lot of people site how many games he lost as a reason why he is not good. Look back at some of the teams he played with…awful. He was 8-16 one year…and led the league in ERA! Again I do not think he was the GOAT, but I do not think overatted is accurate either.

That's my boy
Nolan Ryan… Why does everyone think he was overrated?
Because sports writers are incapable of separating “favorite” and “best”. Nolan Ryan is my favorite pitcher ever (even if he did end-up on the damned Rangers), but he isn’t the best pitcher. I think for a lot of people Brett is/was their favorite, but he certainly isn’t the best quarterback.

Bradley
Is a jerk and a poor excuse for a journalist. He is the most BIASED repoter you will ever read. Bottom line is this, Like him or not Favre is a LEGEND, and should go down as one. The NFL is a worse place without him. He is one of the good guys who just flat out loves the game and the competition. He had his ups and downs in his personal life and that is what made me love him. He is a regular guy just like one of us. He is just living his dream. Favre is the man, and Bradley is just an over paid BLOGGER! No offece to anyone on here, you are by far more supperior bloggers than Bradley will ever be!
Someone once said "Vince Young bleeds two toned blue!" But I disagree, because The Great One Doesnt Bleed!!

i don't care anymore...
i used to like Brett because of the way he plays. but i got tired of the whole circus of his retirement/unretirement. i wish he would just leave quietly.
Go Titans!
