Tennessee Titans Place Defensive Tackle Jason Jones on IR

Unfortunately this is a move that we have seen coming for about a week.  The Titans went ahead and made it official today by placing DT Jason Jones on injured reserve according to @titansradio

Jones has showed flashes of being really good when he has been out there, but he has been hampered by injuries in both of his seasons with the Titans.  He is supposed to have shoulder surgery today, so hopefully he will be ready to go when the OTAs start this spring.

The only bright spot here is that 2009 2nd round pick Sen'Derrick Marks should be able to get plenty of reps down the stretch.

Come on Jason, you're killin' me!

I really expected him to be the break-out guy on the defensive line this year… can’t predict injuries though.

This would hurt more if the team was getting ready for the playoffs…

… but because they are now an extreme longshot to make the post season, at least this will give Marks extra playing time, which he can obviously use…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.

time to move jones to the outside some

he’s clearly fragile, and banging in the middle of the line just isn’t going to let him stay on the field it looks like. i’d like to see if he can just rush the passer, and bring in some more beef at tackle.
