Titans Linebacker Keith Bulluck Out for the Year with a Torn ACL
Titans Radio and The Tennessean are both reporting via Twitter that Keith Bulluck has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. I really cannot express how sad it makes me to think that he won't get to finish what very well could be his last season with the Titans. This will mark the end of an incredible 127 straight games that he has started.
They are also reporting that linebacker David Thornton is out for the season, so the news just keeps on getting better. Stanford Keglar better learn those pursuit angles in a hurry.

We might never see him in a Titans jersey again.
On the bright side, maybe we can resign him for less this offseason?

i really think this would be the time....
for tully to emerge as some kind of a leader on the field. his play can speak for itself, he’s gonna be a damn good LB in this league, he needs to round up the guys and let em know what needs to be done.

not really
Thorton has been out for the last couple of games. McGrath has been starting for him and playing very well. Allred…did not play so well last game. Maybe Keglar will get the start and show something.
I say we vote him to the Pro Bowl to see him one more time with a Titans helmet on!
Vote here!

Odd
How these guys get hurt on plays that don’t seem that drastic.

From the "totally stolen from T--Rac's Posse's tweet" department:
Since Nick Harper’s so good against the run, can he take over for Bulluck and let Hood start at CB?
I would rec this myself if I could.

I can't believe that...
Guess we are getting a faster look at our young LBs than we wanted. Atleast they won’t throw at harper every play now.

Re signing
I know its harsh but a guy over 30 who just blew out his ACL? I think this makes it easier for us to not make an emotional decision and re sign the guy.
I agree
Once Bullock got hurt the Dolphins controlled the game and tied us to send it to OT. Plus other bad new David Thorton also out for season
Keith is a healthy 32
and an ACL injury isn’t what it used to be.

Bulluck
now has more value to tennessee than any team on the open market.. I doubt any team out there will offer him a big contract with an ACL ….however, the titans can re-sign him now…maybe at a discount.
Bulluck is a winner and he will come back.

You’d think Fisher rand on the field and blocked Rob’s kick, then ran out the stadium and hoped in a truck with a Ravens logo on it or something by the tenor of the comments this morning.

You think we can get Derrick Brooks for the rest of the year?
He’s a free agent

I'd prefer to just let our young guys try to step up
I’m never a fan of bringing in a veteran after, say, Week 7 or 8.

Isn't Derrick Brooks doing work on TV?
I think hes on that 1st and 10 or Cold Pizza show on ESPN2. Him and Drew Bennett do some kind of football talk.
Man
this sucks big time.
However, I am not going to miss all those horse collar tackles he had been getting the last couple of weeks!
I hope we resign him next year.
Go Titans, I know you can still do it!
Just pray guys
When they showed him walking towards the locker room after the injury
I thought he was fine.
That there just shows you what a beast Bulluck is.

As someone who's torn their ACL
it was pretty obvious on the replay as soon as that guy put pressure on him when his knee was turned a bit that his ACL was toast. Sucks for our season, our D, and of course Bulluck.
But hey, now maybe we can agree who to pick in the first? Who are the best OLB’s out there?
to add insult to injury
the ESPN bottom line called him Keith BULLOCK
at least we’ll get a preview of our D for next year when he is gone.
RABLE RABLE Nick Harper! RABLE RABLE RABLE!!! RABLE RABLE Jeff Fisher! RABLE RABLE!!!

Hmmm
I wonder if this will hurt his Free Agency now because he will be 32 and coming off an ACL injury which is his first major injury of his career.
Maybe just maybe this is a good thing in the long term for us and him to remain a Titan!
Also Allred is the one with the assigned with the back up playcall helmet last time i heard so does he remain back up and Kegs gets the start? Who gets the playcall helmet?
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
No,
Tulloch got the backup duty during the game yesterday, after Bulluck got hurt.
Fish said so.
PK posted
Allred will get the starting nod while the communication helmet duties will go to Tully. Kegs becomes the primary backup.
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
I hope KB tearing his acl
isn’t his last play in a Titans jersey. That would be a SAD SAD day….

As if things are not tough enough already
The only thing left is that the league decide to we start the game 30 pts down.

I know it's been said before, but
This is very bad and very sad
Bulluck is the heart of the Titans
I am afraid that whatever was left of our playoff hopes is now gone (Miami started moving the ball when Bulluck left the game)
I am afraid that he won’t be back with us again
This is a dark day for Titans’ fans
(sorry to be so negative, but this is what I really believe)
he's not dead just hurt
he’ll be on the sidelines leading from there while its not the same it helps
Que Where?!?!
by SouthTexasTitan on Dec 21, 2009 9:24 PM CST up reply actions
I know, I know
but, he’s not going to be on the field again this season, and we don’t know when or if he will be back. With this injury coming when our playoff hopes are hanging by a thread and in the last year of his contract, it could not have come at a worse time. That’s not overstating the situation; it’s just the facts.
This sucks ass
If we dont re-sign him, I hate that that may be his last game as a Titan. It is not the way he should go out
why oh why?
i feel like we just got eliminated from playoff contention.
