Best Running Back In The AFC: Cedric Benson...?

Sounds dumb even for Simple Jack, right?  Well thats what the voting fans of the NFL are saying right now, because Benson leads the AFC in Pro Bowl votes.  This reminds me of an old quote:

Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote.

George Jean Nathan

See, there is a solution though: GO VOTE RIGHT NOW, AND THEN VOTE AGAIN.  It's ok, you can do that.  Czar Goodell said it's cool.

Or, just don't vote at all, and we can make a living off of media hate articles (like somebody we know...) when CJ makes a push for the single season rushing record and isn't a starter in the Pro Bowl that's in his home state.  Awesome.

Well shoot.

I’d even say CJ is hands down the best in the league. And I’m a biased Colts’ fan.

Your last paragraph

is what I would prefer to see. It would highlight the farce that the pro bowl is. I despise the pro bowl.

- It’s a crappy football game, rules make it not football yet you still risk injury to players.
- voting starts ridiculously early.
- you can vote as many times as you like, and last time i checked there’s nothing to stop programmatic (bot) voting.
- fans for the most part (including me) don’t know jack about 90% of the positions that are on the ballot.

How would I do it?
- There would be no fan voting, only media, coaches, and players themselves would vote.
- If there was fan voting over the web, it would be controlled to prevent bots and one vote per email address, with a delay to prevent temp email addresses from being used.
- Voting would not start until at least half and probably 75% of season was completed
- There would be no stupid game, instead the winners would just participate in a series of fun, televised athletic/skill competitions.

Cedric benson compared to chris johnson? hahhhaahahhahahhaa

What a friggin joke! A 1st rd bust in chicago who is having an okay year. nothing special like CJ. It’s pretty obvious that people in cinncinati ohio are pulling another poll scam(see George Bush 2nd term). For good measure I voted 10 times for CJ and will do so everyday till voting ends. “46”

How much is fan voting taken into consideration?

Is it a percentage? if so, what’s the percentage?

by jayosanne on Dec 1, 2009 4:38 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Fan voting is 1/3rd of the vote.

no way should fan voting count for that much

you could have an overall top vote receiving award but lets be real most of us, myself included, have no clue who is deserving. I see 2-3 games tops a week, other than ours and tv is not really the best venue to watch what is happening all over the field.

Don't worry

He’ll get in easy. If he doesn’t, it will be blatantly obvious that the Pro Bowl is a joke. The league doesn’t want that.

TRUE Fans only count as 1/3 of votes

And im “SURE” that all the coaches and other players FEAR Benson when they Play him. Cj will start, Besides isn’t Benson hurt right now ???

Interesting fact:

No running back in NFL history has three runs over 85 yards in their CAREER.

CJ has three this SEASON.

And we still have St Louis coming up. Count on at least one break away in that game.

Cardsfan here

I wouldn’t worry to much about this. Chris Johnson is the best back in Pro football. Coaches and players get 2/3 of the vote. Between the coaches and players Chris is gonna get his and get in the Pro-bowl.

If he is not the starter at his position for the AFC they should cancel the game.

If voting changed anything, it'd be illegal

In this case, that’s a good thing.

He’ll start

What I don't understand

is how Benson is 7th in all players receiving votes with 469,568

IT'S A CONSPIRACY!

Seriously, it very well could be. He has a bot set up to continuously vote for himself, it doesn’t look like th esite will really prevent that.
