Who -esque to you?
Don Banks says Elway-esque
Gramsey says #9-esque
Some other guy said Montana-esque
I say Magic Johnson-esque...
In a position normally dominated by white guys 5'11"-6'3" he comes in taller, stronger and faster than his peers and with a different style of play. He has sometimes unbelievable skills at creating opportunities for his teammates, creating them for himself and knowing when to do which. He comes from a rough background and has a passion about the sport he plays like few others (I remember hearing stories about Magic dribbling home from school with his off-hand everyday, sleeping with his ball, etc). His stats are good, his teams are always winners, and he is the maestro to some fantastic finishes.
Plus, in the press conference yesterday VY said something about how he's always rooting Leinart on and trying to create a "Magic/Bird thing".
To me, the game winning play right there was vintage Magic. VY "drew the play in the dirt" with Dinger, he read the D, then totally rendered them helpless by faking the run, looking left, moving left, then throwing around his blocker the opposite direction and just freakin' nailing the throw to Britt.
Completely Magic-esque.
Who asked you? I did.
VY is/was who -esque to you?

Do you like this story?

How about Vince Young-esque!
He does it in his own way like no one else and we all know this last game wasn’t the first time he has done something like this.
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
I hear yah
but can you call a guy himself-esque? Doesn’t that contradict the -esque part? Does anybody have a dictionary around here?
Hey SoCal
I’ve only gotten to watch a few SC games this year and Mays hasn’t blown me away. Do you really think he’s legit? I’d love for an all-star head hunting safety like a bigger Ed Reed, but do you really think he is the guy? I’ve heard he’s got Roy Williams disease on pass coverage.
Not hatin’ just don’t know the guy that well…would like to hear your thoughts.
The silver lining if we don't win out?
Maybe our draft position will be conducive to a Berry choice.
Eric Berry
is my vote for the Titans 1st round draft pick if he falls to us. I watched the Florida vs Tennessee game and Ive never seen a player dominate on defense from the CB position like he did. He could help replace Harper and be a dominate force on our D. He plays a lot like Finnegan, very physical and loves to make big hits!
I don't get to watch enough Vols game either
and so many internet Titans fans are from Tennessee, I unfairly make the presumption that guys screaming for Berry are biased… from what I’ve watched though he’s looked pretty sweet.
Assuming we don’t crap the bed the rest of the season, won’t he be gone before our pick?
You know what...
Eric Berry has definitly out performed Mays this season without a doubt. But if you watch any of the games last year Mays was a stud. I’ve noticed this season they have him playing deep alot so they basically stack the box and leave him out on an Island and so far it hasn’t worked out great for him but I believe he will be a tremendous Safety in the NFL and won’t be the next Roy Williams.
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
That's what I've mostly seen...
but that just doesn’t make sense with a guy like him. He’s way more physically gifted than a guy like Earl Thomas, but he didn’t seem to be flying to the ball on every play like Thomas and any safety I’d want to draft.
Why the hell would you take a guy like that and only use him as a safety net?
