Is Kenny Britt The New T.O. Without the Ego?

After watching what may have been the most exciting performance by Vince Young and HIS team,  I am going to say that Kenny Britt may be the best rookie reciever the Titans have ever drafted.  This guy makes plays.  Remember how we all thought the game was near over when he fumbled with 4-5 minutes left?  He battled back from the disappointing fumble, got the ball in his hands, and made a play.

Maybe I am being wishful here but Kenny Britt looks like a young Terrell Owens without the ego.  He is big, strong, fast, and can make plays everywhere.  Kenny looks to have a bright future in my opinion.

I'm all for Britt and Gage starting

and moving Washington into the slot, where he was at his best in Pittsburgh.

100% agree

put Washington in the slot once Gage is back

Makes sense

wasn’t Washington supposed to be a ballin’ deep threat?

TO without the ego is called...

Marvion Harrison. And while it’s WAY to early for Britt to be making these comparisons, he sure is on the right track and I like what I’m seeing. Fisher has to keep him in as a starter seeing how he’s become VY’s favorite target.

by Oilersborn on Nov 30, 2009 2:28 PM CST reply actions

TO is sculpted, Harrison has a size 30 waist. Im not saying one is better than the other, but its not a good comparison.

by mattd97 on Nov 30, 2009 3:33 PM CST up reply actions

I was referring more to stats than body type. They have comparable stats, but TO got more lime light because of the ego and Harrison just let plays on the field do his talking.

by Oilersborn on Dec 2, 2009 6:23 PM CST up reply actions

Simple answer: No

Why? Because Kenny Britt doesn’t drop the ball. I’d personally compare Kenny Britt more to Reggie Wayne. Have you ever seen Reggie Wayne drop a pass? Both these guys to me are more likely to fumble after catching it than actually drop it.

by T--Rac's Posse on Nov 30, 2009 3:19 PM CST reply actions

i was reading about britt today and apparently he was known in Jersey as a guy with bad hands. which is weird cause hes been a revelation in tennessee with his hands. Either our receivers are even worse than we thought, or Britts worked very hard on it. I havent seen him drop many balls, if any, and make some nice grabs.

by mattd97 on Nov 30, 2009 3:34 PM CST up reply actions

Sorry to say but there are many occasions this year especially with Kerry in the I recall Kenny dropping the ball… now… I still think he has more than an excellent future ahead of him in the NFL, and I was thoroughly astonished how one of the youngest players in the NFL game back from that fumble to dominate the defense

by gilbz7 on Nov 30, 2009 9:19 PM CST up reply actions

he has a little ways to go to be compared to the likes of terrell owens and reggie wayne.

but i like what i’ve seen and he should definately start with gage on the other side and washington in the slot. i think hawkins is a great back up as well and edison could become great as well. i think our wr corps is better than we give them credit for sometimes.

i think britt's ceiling

looks something like anquan boldin. big, physical, loves to go over the middle.

I wanna say Hines Ward/T.O. hybrid

big play maker with punishing hits, I’ve seen Britt put some hits on people

Que Where?!?!

by SouthTexasTitan on Nov 30, 2009 8:18 PM CST reply actions

nice

just watched that insane hit…he actually took out two people with that block….

he also got fined in the pre season apparently for a vicious hit on a linebacker.

concur.... if not F to C...

Also, I dont know if anyone else has noticed or not, but I feel like ever since Vince has been playing less balls have been dropped… anyone else notice this?

by gilbz7 on Nov 30, 2009 9:21 PM CST up reply actions

thats the most amazing part to me:

how much more accurate VY has become in his time off. kerry was supposed to be the accurate one, but Vince has grown in leaps and bounds in that department and it has made a huge difference for the offense. i think it’s just further testament to his new-found work ethic. that was the main reason i had so little faith in his nfl future, because accuracy is usually one of those things you either have or you don’t, and Vince didn’t have it consistently until 5 weeks ago. i’m so, so impressed with that part of his new game.

It's all about footwork.

The errant throws from earlier in his career, where from not setting his feet and squaring his shoulders. His footwork, especially from under center, has dramatically improved. He actually looks comfortable taking snaps from a pro style formation.

I don’t think Vince ever had issues with accuracy, he just was rushing his throws at times. He just didn’t look comfortable in the pocket, and you’d see him throwing off his back foot or off balance.

It’s obvious that Dinger is a great QB coach. The strides that Vince has made over the past year and a half is a huge testament to both of their hard work.

Agree. A "C".

Nate has had some big time drops, and he isn’t nearly as I had hoped for. He’s an upgrade, for sure, but he hasn’t really hit any home runs yet.

I think....

Britt and guage start…..nate the speedy slot guy…and we have plenty of playmakers on the offense. Britt is going to be a special guy….That gives us …VY, CJ, KB…….then you thow in all the rest, Nate, Jared, Bo, Amhad, hawk…..

What else do you need….you cant have a T.O at every position…

I’m excited

This post is more evidence of the prolific meth problem in Nashville.

Comparing Kenny Britt to TO, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne? ROFL wow….

You might be getting a little ahead of yourselves.

Hey man

Did you notice that all of the sudden the Titans are tied with your Texans in the division?

Crazy how this season is unfolding, huh?

I would like to agree that it is indeed "crazy" how the season is unfolding....

But the truth is, it really isn’t. So far, it’s par for the course for the Texans.

Let's just hope he plays...

…when Gage returns. I’m still trying to figure out how Hood gets deactivated for a game, let alone isn’t splitting time with Harper.

Gage and Britt on the ends with Nate in the slot soulds good to me. And let’s get Hawk out there more, too.

by DrBristol on Dec 1, 2009 9:55 AM CST reply actions

Hood was deactivated because of illness.

And I am convinced that Fisher sits Britt when Gage is healthy.

That is just the kind of ignorant move that he would make.

to be fair

even if gage comes back as “starter” you know britt is still going to see plenty of the field at this point.

So I give up trying to figure out what this quack head coach is gonna do next.

You have a lot more faith in Fisher than I do.

He is starting Harper over Hood…and you can’t lose your job to injury.

I give our wr core a B

B- at the worst with emergence of Britt….I don’t know who to compare him to but he can go deep….he can go over the middle….he can win the battle for the ball against just about every corner (i’m thinking) He doesnt show fear when about to get decleated (see preseason deep pass from VY)

….in a year or two other blogs will be hoping their new WR will be “Britt-Esque”

fyi…I think I had a ’grey out" as britt came down with the ball….I was so out of my mind when I came to my wife said I was speaking in Portugese….

then I channelled Ricky Bobby and screamed…“That…Just …Happenned”

GO TITANS!!!!
