Titans make Playoffs + win Superbowl = Vince 'Hall of Fame' Young?

Vince said he will 'one day win a Superbowl and get into the Hall of Fame.'

What if (and thats a big WHAT IF), he does..this season.

Could he have a 'foot in' the Hall of Fame?

Think about it for a second. 0-6 to start the season, they call his number and he runs the table, 10-0. He helps put us in the playoffs, and by some miracle we keep winning each game in the playoffs and eventually, the Superbowl.

Wouldn't that be one of the greatest stories told in NFL History?

Obviously he would need to continue his career for years and hit many marks to really be considered. But if he somehow helps pull it off this year, don't you think he would have to be considered a very rare commodity to take a woeful team to the promise land? Wouldn't that ignite some talk about how great he is?

I know what your thinking, he played 1 good game against the bedazzlers, I'm getting way ahead of myself, and all that..but I don't think its THAT far fetched of an idea. We went 10-0 last year, we can do it again this year, and if the defense keeps playing like we thought they would at the beginning of the season, and the offensive players keep stepping up, then this is a Superbowl caliber team.

When Vince predicted his 'future' earlier this year, everyone kinda laughed at him..but is this his chance to really put a dent in history and prove everyone wrong? And if he does, wouldn't that be Hall of Fame worthy?

Although it would be quite the turnaround...

I don’t think simply getting there merits HOF candidacy. There’s more to it than a turnaround, you need consistency and the numbers to do it.

but I don’t think its THAT far fetched of an idea.

I mean no offense, but yes it is THAT far fetched of an idea.

We likely will miss the playoffs even at 10-6. There are so many teams who are better than our best case scenario. What I mean is even if we play our absolute best, several teams would still be better than us.

If you wanna discuss and think about it, that’s cool. It is an interesting discussion. But lets not pretend that this is a scenario with more than a 0.000001% chance of happening.

To answer your question though

If VY led us to a Super Bowl this year, it would be a great foundation to a HoF career. Just as good as Tom Brady’s story, in my opinion.

Anything is possible...

…This is the NFL, not the NCAA. You have 60 minutes to keep your season going (if you clinch a playoff berth). They laughed at Joe Namath when he guaranteed a win over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. It’s just a matter of getting hot at the right time.

Thats right.......

look at the last couple of teams that won the Superbowl. They all got hot at the end of the year they were not dominate throughout the whole season. Teams that do that usually end up choking in the playoffs to the teams that got hot at the end of the season aka US not to offend anyone, but I think we would all rather get hot at the end of the year than to go 13-3 and lose in the first round again.

Why not…

… they put Namath into the HOF based on one good year and a big Super Bowl win.

Honestly, I think VY would get into the Hall only if he puts up very good numbers along with winning at least a couple of titles…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

Oh ya,everyone was saying he could never do it for us also saying he should switch to wideout…

by cpabis on Nov 11, 2009 10:21 AM CST reply actions

he should switch to wideout..

for a play or two..having him at QB is ‘Wildcat 3.0’…its the most natural ‘Wildcat’ formation in the league, if he just runs out and catches the ball, that’d pretty much throw defenses way off balance..for the next series.
