Tennessee Titans Success Rates Against Jacksonville
Explanation:
Each individual rush is considered on it's own, and measured by it's "success." A run is considered successful if it gets 40% of the yardage needed to move the chains on first down, 60% of the yardage needed on second down, and 100% of the yardage needed on third or fourth down. This is a much more accurate overall picture of how well a running back does in a game than just the total yardage or ypc averages because it ignores big run outliers that can skew those kinds of stats

I'm sorry, I might have missed it
Why weren’t VY’s totals factored in to this formula?
Thank You Vince Young, I Feel Like A Winner!

Vince had a 30% success rate on 10 rushes.
He officially had 12 rushes, but the last two were kneel downs.
It’s harder with a quarterback, though, because a “success” may be a little more subjective. Especially in our case when many of these scrambles may have been throw aways for Kerry.
Removing the last two “rushes” from the V formation, Vince had 10 carries for 32 yards, or 3.2 YPC.
It’s hard to really nitpick about his play last week, because he did everything we needed of him to win. But, it’s worth noting that he averaged 6.7 ypc his rookie year. That’s what made him so dangerous. Hopefully he can get some longer runs mixed in as the year goes on.
J-Ville...
Has always put a strong emphasis on bottling up VY’s runs. He had two key first downs rushing (followed by TDs) and was 4/9 passing/rushing on 3rd down. In the first 3 quarters (no pass attempts in the 4th), these are the drives VY helmed:
13 plays, 50 yds, 7:14, 3 pts
11 plays, 45 yds, 5:54, 0 pts
8 plays, 54 yds, 4:31, 7 pts
5 plays, 27 yds, 2:21, 3 pts
3 plays, 9 yds, 2:00, 0 pts
7 plays, 74 yds, 3:37, 7 pts
7 plays, 40 yds, 3:45, 3 pts
Thats 300+ yds and 30 minutes of possession in 3 quarters. Yeah, in different circumstances we need more big plays out of VY, but he effectively played 3 quarters and couldn’t have done much more in that time.
54 percent is just unacceptable.
I think we just need to part ways with both backs
Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...

When I read your header I nearly had an aneurysm before I read the rest and who wrote it.

Who says I was joking?
If I get below a 60% in a class in college I fail.
Seriously, though, I just wanted to see how many people have absolutely no humor. You ruined it for me.

I love VInce.
But I think had we been running this offense all year we’d have been winning regardless of who was behind center. At the very least not 0-6 going into the bye. See: last friggin’ year.
I love him, too...
and this offense suits us much more…plus I think that the players have way too much pride to just mail this thing in…as I said before…they’re a very streaky team…only NOW, the streak is going in the right direction!!
