Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans Series at a Glance

Cardshelmet_medium

This will be the Cardinals first ever visit to LP Field (They are the only remaining team that has never played here).  The Titans are 3-5 all time against the Cardinals, and Jeff Fisher is 1-2.  The last time these two teams met was in 2005 with the Cardinals winning 20-10 in Arizona.  That had to be the best game of Tyrone Calico's career, right?

Kurt Warner's last visit to LP Field (Adelphia Coliseum at the time.  Aside: why didn't they stick with the coliseum thing and call it LP Coliseum.  That sounds better IMO.) was this game in 1999 when he threw for 328 yards and 3 TDs in a loss.

The game will be on FOX this week because that is how it goes when NFC teams play @ AFC teams.  The broadcast will be handled by Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan.  I am not familiar with either of those guys so if you have any insight on them let us know in the comments.  Also remember this game is a late start, 3:15 central, because of the flex scheduling.

I just call it LP Coliseum...

Hoping it will catch on. Maybe we can start referring to it as LP Coliseum here on MCM and build a vocal constituency for it. It just fits so much better.

Kinda funny this discussion happens

the same day that the building formerly known as the Sommet Center loses it’s name.

Love Sommet's response.

It boils down to: “but you PROMISED!”

Unless it was part of the written contract, which it sounds like it wasn’t or they would have mentioned it in the press release, they have no right to withhold the payments they contracted to made.

If they had gotten their “understanding” in writing, they might have a leg to stand on. And I’m sure the Preds have a good reason for not using their naming rights sponsor’s services.

What is it with Nashville teams and naming rights partners? First Adelphia goes belly-up, now this. Does this happen a lot?

Vince is giving Leinart advice:
Titans QB Vince Young suggests Cards backup QB Matt Leinart handle criticism like this: “Don’t read it or listen to it. You know what you’re capable of. Whenever you get your shot … prove them wrong. Use it as motivation.”

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner was on the field at the start of the Cardinals’ morning practice today, though a report on his medical tests had yet to be announced.

Warner had his helmet on and was involved in early drills. There was no immediate word on whether his participation would be listed as “limited” or "full.

Tim Ryan

Is from the Sirius Radio – NFL Network. He’s got a daily radio show called “Movin the Chains”. He’s very good, though I still like to mute my TV and throw Mike Keith on via internet stream.
