Texans Fans Can Come To This Thread
Well, it was a good game for both sides. There was a lot of people from BRB trash talking this week, and it made watching this game much more entertaining, so I thank the people that came here for that. The reason I made this thread was because we never saw the 49ers fans after the victory over them, so I was hoping to get the people who said they would come back in the same thread. Enjoy!

I posted this int he main thread - but since you made this one especially for crow-eating...
Great win. We suck… and let me just say this – I’m not going to say anything like "CJ did the work and Vince just filled in the blanks."
Vince Young beat the Texans tonight, PERIOD. CJ got some great numbers, but he didn’t hit the home run. In a way, the Texans did what they wanted – they limited CJ just enough that he didn’t MURDER us, and forced Vince to make plays, which he did – with ease.
I hate the Titans. HATE them. But you guys had a great game, and Bulluck’s comments came to fruition. So, I’m here to take the medicine.
Big players make big plays when the game is on the line. We apparently don’t have those players. NOBODY wants any part of the Titans right now.

Oh yeah, no doubt. I just mean he never busted loose for huge plays.
He had a couple of long runs, but not the big home runs.
Also – I know you guys feel this way already, but I do think he is the best RB in the NFL.

cj then ap...best believe it
why isnt CJ leading for the pro bowl for afc?
by CJ28 on Nov 24, 2009 12:49 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Because he is on a 4-6 team. Team record can kill guys in pro bowl voting with the average voter who isn't as discerning.

On the contrary...
you guys have some really great players…but…I’ve noticed that ya’ll have lost more than once by missing a last second kick (ie:Colts game). Now I know your kicker has some good stats and all, but….I’m just saying.

Congrats guys
I really didn’t engage in the smack talk before the game (probably because I was too busy with work to post too much) but it’s W for your team regardless of what fans said in the build up. So congratulations to your team for that.
I don’t think this is the worst I’ve ever felt as a Texans fan, for which we can thank Sage Rosenfels, but it comes close.
It will be an interesting drive down the stretch – may the best team come out on top.

Congrats guys....all round a very intense game.
I HATE the way we lost. Nothing more friustrating than losing on a field goal.
And Andre johnson dropping passes left and right was just…..wierd.
Both sides has some bad calls go against them, typicial crap REFs this year. Seriously the worst year for officiating in the NFL in a long time, and I mean league wide for all teams.
Vince Young and CJ played very well. CJ proved that he can grind out the yards which is important.
Our offense looked like ass. Can’t believe the number of dropped passes, it’s like they weren’t concentrating….man that was wierd.
Good game, I definitely now believe that Vince Young may have turned a corner.
Though the question that remains is not how he handles success of course, but how he will handle the next bad game he has. If he can deal with that, then he may be the guy for along time.
Anyway, pile it on! I’m here to take my lumps.

Nothing to pile on, dude...
it was a very close game that could have gone either way. You guys don’t have anything to hang your heads about. You’ve got a good “D” & QB. AJ is a straight up stud. You’ll be OK. Believe me, we’re glad to get that one behind us!

I'm shocked.
Good game, I definitely now believe that Vince Young may have turned a corner.
Those that are still in denial aren’t paying attention. He’s not a world beater yet, but it’s obvious that he worked hard in his time on the bench.

Yup.
I still want to see how he handles adversity with a bad game or two. But he came to play last night and looked good doing it.

Congratulations, Folks
You absolutely deserved the win. Best of luck the rest of the season.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

i have a serious question for the texans fans
can i just assume the people that actively hate on vy (see thread “HOPE VY CONTINUES TO FAIL” or whatever it was) just don’t watch college ball? how can you do that to someone who brought two rose bown wins and a MNC to texas?
by arilou on Nov 24, 2009 11:16 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
I think you have it all wrong....
It isn’t so much that people hate VY, it’s that people LOVE VY. That divides this town and makes it more personal too us because alot of us are UT Grads. So you see alot of VY love at the games and the Texans fans hate that because you have a significant hometown group rooting for VY.
Interestingly, most of the VY fans are just that, VY fans and not Titans fans, which alot of Titans fans don’t understand either and mistake it for people cheering for the Titans.
In short, VY fans FAR outnumber Titans fans in Houston and both are well outnumbered by Texan fans.

I go way back with VY, in a manner of speaking
He went to a high school in the same district as mine (although I’m older than him – I still follow my alma mater and hs football in Texas). I’m not a UT fan per se but I’m pretty sympathetic to them and as an expatriate Texan I root for all Texas schools to do well, and I was really pleased when he won a title for Texas.
There’s a lot of players who do great things in college but don’t become all-world as pros – look at Reggie Bush.
But it’s not hard to distinguish between VY the college player and VY the pro. The guy goes to a team that is essentially the enemy, I root against him. It’s not his fault, but the way the Houston media, particularly Little Dicky Justice, Age 12, licked his nuts (and railed on Mario Williams who committed the great crime of being drafted no 1 overall by the Texans) was just sickening and, in my opinion, unprofessional.
It’s not like he’s a bad guy or anything, but you know, business is business.
When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.

P.Manning
It’s the same way with how there are a large number of Colts fans at Titans games because of Peyton Manning. With what he did with the Volunteers the Colts have seemingly a large fan base but in all actuality they are just Peyton fans
Chris Johnson---everything Reggie Bush was supposed to be.

On the flip side of that...
…VY will also have automatic haters in Houston if you’re from any other Big 12 School or even rival High Schools.
I’m among those who love the National Title as a Texas fan, but have mixed feelings on his pro career. That said, the Titans are managing him well right now. He seems to have rebounded well BUT the true test comes when they meet adversity. No NFL team goes unbeaten, no player plays perfectly….that’ll be the true test for VY.

Honestly
I think stuff got way out of hand on both side of the debate. It’s not my style and I’m annoyed that it got like that.

Congrats to the Titans fans...
…great game, good win for you guys.
Two things I learned last night:
- Rob Bironas is the best kicker in the NFL. I know he’s had some great performances and kicks, but when you drill it right down the middle from 53 like nothing….that’s how a NFL kicker should perform.
- Chris Johnson isn’t just a home run hitter. He’s a threat out of the backfield, he’s able to carry the workload (29 carries), and he’s a pretty solid blocker (who seemed to always have that corner block to get VY to the sticks). The last two I really didn’t know. I know a lot of people say All Day is the best RB in the NFL, but Chris Johnson did a lot of everything last night and earned my vote for that title.

i must say i was on edge all night and right to the very end.
vy has once again proven he is our qb, cj has once again proven he is the number 1 back in the nfl over ap with his versatility by running, catching, blocking, etc… and the titans got a quality win. But i must say for the texans that the game could have went either way. there were a lot of bad calls on both sides, a lot of penalties not necessary and some that should have had flags thrown. i also underestimated just how good cushing really is. if andre johnson hadn’t dropped so many passes we likely wouldn’t have won. but either way, we did, so that’s reason enough to celebrate. GO TITANS!!!

o and one other thing...
i’m gonna be hella pissed if harper starts over hood next week against the cardinals. we have tough match ups with fitzgerald and boldin. heck that team has tons of ariel weapons. we are likely screwed if we don’t get off to a big jump in the beginning.
