I’m fine if Harper “starts”…
… as long as Hood comes in after the first play and plays the rest of the game in his place…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

I bet
even Harper doesn’t think he deserves to start.

If Harper starts I think it proves that Jeff Fisher is a complete hypocrite
Like many people have said previously, he benched Vince last year after a poor preseason and sophomore year because of injury, so him saying that as a rule people don’t lose their jobs to injury doesn’t make much sense.
I’m getting pretty fed up with his crap, Fisher isn’t the same coach he was a few years ago and as long as we could find a capable replacement (Shannahan, Cower, Holgren, or an upcoming assistant coach from somewhere in the league) he should be fired. The thought of Nick Harper covering Andre Johnson one-on-one doesn’t sound so good.

I'm going to take up for Harper
I’m going to give the same logic as some have put on Vince. We haven’t really played anyone so how do we know Hood is good. Afterall, he was on the street.

3 picks in your first 3 starts
Is impressive no matter who you’re playing

Not really...
1st Int occurred because the receiver ran into the ref.
2nd int occurred because Grif tipped a ball.
3rd int occurred because ball went through TO’s hannds.
None of the int’s were the case of his jumping a route or playing great coverage.
The guy worked out for four teams this summer and didn’t make the team. Pumping him up to be a future starter is not wise.
Roderick Hood-DB – Titans Sep. 19 – 3:53 pm et
According to Brad Biggs of the National Football Post, free agent CB Rod Hood worked out for the Patriots this week.
Hood has been released by the Cardinals, Browns and Bears this summer. The veteran is trying to set the record for getting rejected by the most teams in one offseason.

He has still played better than Harper
If you have watched the games you can tell that teams were picking on Harper. They weren’t doing that to Hood.

Finnegan switched sides
Stats show that most right-handed qbs throw less to the left side; therefore, Hood is getting a decreased number of balls thrown his way.

I don't buy it
Harper has to play 10 yards off the line because he is slower than most. He works in a scheme where the pass rush gets to a player before the ball is thrown his way, but if I were a coach, and I saw Nick Harper lining up against anyone, I would throw straight at him.
1. He doesn’t really look at the ball when it throws. This is because he is usually trying to catch up
2. He plays ten yards off the line, leaving those quick slant throws, short screens, and then you’ve got a good chance to get by him untackled.
I liked the signing of Nick Harper, but Hood has been where he needs to be to make plays. I’ve only caught him out of position a few times. I wouldn’t say he’s a cornerback of the future but he has had a better season than Harper. Just as Young has had a better season than Collins.

You haven't looked at the games
Hood is lining up with almost the same depth as Harper. Additionally, he hardly ever jams the receiver.
by earlers on Nov 22, 2009 7:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I've been at games where both have started
Hood plays waaay closer than Harper. There are some plays where he is back, sure, but he’s getting attacked less because he does jump closer.
by Great Paperclip on Nov 22, 2009 9:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Only because Harper is worse.
Hood is not good, it’s just that Harper is worse.
Teams would pick on Hood if Harper wasn’t around.

because he is generally within 10 yards of the assigned receiver?

its not about Hood being good
its about Harper being that bad

As bad as Harper is…hes better than Mouton or Mcourtney. While he shouldnt be startin over Hood, he should be over the rookies

….he just likedid da scrip clubs a whole lot. For a minute I thought he’d turn the corner but some guys don’t know how to leave the hood behind. I hope he learns somethin’ outta this. No job and Santa Claus is comin’ . I’d could see him playin’ again if he gets it together.

Jeff don't start Nick!!!!!!
Nick is a good guy, but not on Monday Night! You’d kept Kerry Collins as the starter too long and looked what happened, 0-6. Keep “Robbin” Hood as the starter at Corner.
