Titans 41 Bills 17: Quick Recap

Watching a win just makes the day so much better.  We saw some of the things that haunted us earlier in the season in this game but were able to come up with the offense to make sure it did not matter.  Chris Johnson had another unbelievable day with yards rushing and another yards receiving.  I know we were all hoping for a bigger day rushing, but he needed 130 yards to stay on pace for 2,000, and he got it with 132.

Vince Young played another solid game going 17-25 for 210 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  He also had a couple of nice plays with his legs to keep drives alive.  He will face his biggest test of the year next week in Houston, but I predicted when we drafted him that he would never lose to the Texans.  He hasn't, and I don't expect that to change this year.

The defense regressed a little bit giving up some big plays, but they were able to step up and score a couple of TDs late to put the game out of reach.  How about Rod Hood?

Three in a row feels good.  The toughest stretch of the remaining season is ahead, but for now let's enjoy another win!

What we've learned (and already knew).

Chris Johnson is a beast.
Rod Hood is so much better than Harper.
Vince has clearly been trying hard to become a good QB. Sure the defenses hes faced haven’t been the best, but it’s clear to me how much he practiced.

Ain't no time for hesitatin'
All you got to do is groove

I am so happy

3-6 baby! Bring on the Texans!

P.s.

Love the switch to Hood! Hope it is for good.

GREAT game.

I have to say the best part was taunting TO on the sidelines. Can Fisher really put Nick Harper back in? Next weeks game will be huge.

i am the most impressed with vy.

sure cj has been the main reason we have won the last 3 weeks, and he is a beast… but that is expected from him(at least by me)… but we gotta recognize the strides vince has made. his qb rating has been really efficient this season. overall i see a lot of players stepping up. its too bad we dug ourselves in such a deep hole earlier this season that it would take an absolute miracle for us to still make it to the playoffs.

We may be pretty much out of the playoffs...

But, you never know. Remember Vince’s rookie year? If we would have won that game against the Pats we would have been in. I just enjoy watching the Titans win again.

Absolutely!

Forgot to add it in the story above.

why?

were not catching the colts, if a miracle were to happen wed be going for the wildcard. id rather the pats need to fight to win their division so they cream a couple of our actual competition in the jets and dolphins.

that and the fact that theyre cheaters and love rodney harrison

It has nothing to do with catching the Colts...

…I just can’t stand Peyton. Hope he gets knocked off his high horse.

by J3G77 on Nov 15, 2009 4:48 PM CST up reply actions

yup

we are not rooting for colts losses at this point. We want them to continue to win by all means. Them losing is bad for us because it’s AFC teams we might catch that would most likely be beating them. Patriots too. Basically the teams we can’t catch can just go ahead and keep winning. The teams we might catch and want to lose:

Steelers, Ravens, Dolphins, Jets, Texans, Jaguars, Chargers, Broncos.

Big list.

All these teams are not dominant, but have better records than us.

Not that we’re by any means ready to start a playoff race discussion at 3 and 6 without the ghost of Mora chiming in.

except when they play us next

obviously, we want the colts to lose that one ;-)

Chris Johnson has 1,091 rushing yards thru 9 games.

That’s most since Shaun Alexander’s 1,114 in 2005.

I love the option!

Screw the wildcat, the VY-CJ option rules!

by VolBrian on Nov 15, 2009 5:00 PM CST reply actions

The option is a thing of beauty.

CJ gets the ball already square to the line and ready to make the jump to hyperspace. He probably has already figured he’s got the first two defenders beat and he’s focused on the third guy might have a shot.

Keith Bulluck is 3rd in the NFL with 79 tackles.

It’s going to be horrible to see him go.

Schedule Makers

We follow up one of the league’s hardest schedules for the first 6 games, with having to play 3 teams coming off byes in 4 weeks. The league was setting us up to fail. Is it too late to defy them?

How about Uncle Bud....

flipping off the Bills bench….come on, Uncle Bud, you gotta stay humble, man!! We don’t need any bad karma right now. Major props to the O-Line/ D-Line. Games are won or lost at the line, and these guys DON’T get enough credit. And of course, VY & CJ…what can you say…fan-freakin-tastic!!!
