'Dinger Don't Fail Me Now
Sunday's play calling was encouraging. Dinger showed he's capable of thinking outside the box to put VY and these new Titans in a place succeed. However...
I have a few recommendations:
1. No more options under center. Watch some old film. VY is 100x better at the option out of the shotgun. He's always tiptoed the LOS when doing under center.
2. VY has spent the whole season throwing to our young, talented second stringers like Britt, Cook & Edison. Why not put them out there for a few more plays and see if they've built up any chemistry? I know Gage caught that bomb and the floater over the middle, but he also had a couple of bad plays and he's never had that killer instinct after the catch that Britt seems to have.
3. How about some no huddle? Pair down the playbook with the base set in shotgun and try it for a series or two a game. I feel this could really confuse and tire the defense even with limited usage.
4. When the time is right, I would LOVE to see a delayed roll out or two with a mid and deep option crossing the field.
5. Let's throw in some misdirection and a couple TE screens as defense's will now be 100% committed to getting to the edge to stop CJ and VY.
That's it for now. It was great to see Dinger let VY stretch the field and use his legs a bit. VY proved he understands the offense. Let's keep building on what we've done the past two weeks and turn this team into an offensive powerhouse.
I like what I saw last week, but I'm ready for more. What plays would you like to see us implement?

Thank you Mr. West
That means something coming from you. Mad props to you for keeping this site interesting each and every day.
Respect.
i always had confidence.....
that dinger could find a way to utilize VY’s strengths, he did well in his time here while we had steve(rip) and eddie as our go to guys. i thought it was a good thing when i heard word we were bringing him back. he finally has a qb now that can run his offense the way he drew it up, cant wait to see what he has in store.

Great points
Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...

CJ tried to throw the ball once...
but didn’t work. But I like the way Dinger is mixing things up.

They said it was because
he couldn’t find the laces.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this
but David Thornton was listening to his iPod on the sideline in San Francisco. I really think they should ban iPods from the sideline. Who is with me?!?!?!?!?!????

Hey, I'm just happy he didn't hop in the Benz and bolt when he found out he was inactive....

I saw that also
but I’m pretty sure he was listening in on the play calls to Bullucks helmet. The same way a backup QB listens on the sidelines.
can't be that hard.....
theres only one set. but ill let it slide b/c of his recent production at the RB spot. lol. he’s one of the reasons ppl are wondering how were 2 and 6.

What I'd like to see....
is more plays where they let the DL’s & LB’s come in on the blitz, then VY flips it to CJ with our OL guys in front of him. I also like the draw play using CJ if we’re in mid-field or LW if we’re close to the goal line. Run, run, run…then when they’re expecting another run (maybe on a 1st down play) let Britt run a fast as he can and let VY throw it as far as he can, and see what happens!

I think the term you’re looking for is screen pass.
hahaha
+1

I’d be interested to hear what you think we should implement in the coming weeks. Is there anything I missed?

I agree with all the points you've got above.
I really like the no huddle idea, though I can’t see anyway the coaching staff trusts a guy two weeks removed from the bench to do so. Fisher is all about clock control, and the no huddle doesn’t fit that mold.
I would however like to see the majority of the plays run out of the shotgun. With the exception of short yardage and goal line situations, I don’t see the utility of running plays from under center anymore. With a guy like CJ, the faster you can get the ball in his hands the better. You’re wasting time in the transition from snapping the ball, turning around, and handing the ball off. Chris Johnson’s strength isn’t pounding it up the middle, it’s getting to the edge. Running out of the shotgun allows him to get to the edge quicker. Furthermore, with Vince at QB now, it puts more stress on the defense because they are forced to spy him as well. As a bonus, Vince is more comfortable throwing out of the shotgun. It’s a win-win-win situation.
+1 On the shotgun proposal and Office Reference
I am huge on using more shotgun more often. I see no benefit from running plays from center, except for on short yardage runs it does give the Runningback a running head start. I’d like to see us switch to 70% shotgun snaps.

DUH? Thanks SuperHorn....
I guess I always thought a screen as dumpimg it off to the RB out in the flat…guess the play I’m talking about were they suck in the defense would still be called a screen…my bad.
