That run doesn't happen without Vince's 3rd down conversion

The zone-read is a staple now in the college game, and it’s actually a sound strategy when you have a QB who is dangerous with his legs. I suggest you read some Chris Brown at SmartFootball.com.

Obviously, the guy is really fast. But on a third and four, it’s a great play to call because it makes the defense hesitate.

If you want to refute what I said
I’ll be waiting for some sound football observations other than “OMG VINCE IS QUITTER!!!!” Superhorn has said for a long time that running the zone read with Chris Johnson and Vince could be a great strategy. In that particular instance, it worked very well.

i love it when shadow out smarts people
makes me feel better about myself. For the record, Shadow i absolutely right, Collins runs that play, they key in on CJ and he gets caught for a 5 yard gain, but when you have to watch vince as well, it opens it up for both runners.

ive been a vy fan the whole time, but when we were 13-3 damn right i was pro-collins. i was pro-collins to start the year, and wouldve loved for him to win MVP and have a great year. when he wasnt, i was objective enough to want vy in to change it up.

I am very
impressed with the way Vince played today….
his numbers do not jump out at anybody… but his poise was awesome and I thought he conducted himself very well.
The two throws he would like back were the ones Derek Cox almost picked and the roll-out when he hit Chris Johnson really low.
This game would have been absolutely perfect had the defense actually wrapped up and tackled Maurice Jones-Drew.

Some random thoughts....
OK, great to get a win! It was nice to see the defense get after it, CJ run wild, and VY make some good decisions and play well. I was on here off and on during the game unlike normal where I’m on the entire game. I really was having a problem with some of the same posts over and over. I am not a “VY Hater”, I’m not a “Kerry Collins Hater”, I’m a fan of the Tennessee Titans. Seeing things like “suck it” and all the trash toward Coach Fisher was getting out of hand. I think a lot of so called “fans” on here aren’t really fans and are just wanting to talk trash. That’s not what this site is about. It has never been that way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you are so focused in on one point, then I think you are not in it the same as many of us.
Young was very solid today, he made some plays and his presence did help create some holes for CJ. The defense was much better, they were flying around making plays, putting pressure on Jax, and looked close to where we thought they would be.I think the people mouthing off about Fisher waiting this long to play him should really think about what may have happened in New England if Vince was QB. No, we wouldn’t have lost any worse….but if here were steering the ship of that game, how would he bounce back? Coach Fisher did what we all expected, wait until the bye week to make the change. Today it worked out nicely. Hopefully it will next week too and continue in subsequent weeks. I just don’t want a bad game by VY bring all the other people on here talking trash about him. Be a fan of the Titans, if you are solely a VY fan or hater, please cheer or hate elsewhere.

I know Jimmy has tried this before, but it would be great if there were a separate area of the site where people could go to insult each other and talk trash about VY vs KC, etc. and leave the rest of the site for us to talk about the Titans. But, I guess there’s no way to police that.
