Titans Elevate Cary Williams; Cut Patrick Ramsey
The Tennessean is reporting that Cary Williams has been elevated to the active roster today. No word yet on who will be released- ahem Lavelle Hawkins ahem.
This move was pretty much a necessity with only 3 healthy corners on the roster.
[UPDATE]- Well this is a little bit of a shock, but to make room for Williams on the roster, the Titans released QB Patrick Ramsey.

Wow! The Ramsey cut is a surprise
but I’m not sure who I would have cut at this point. I agree that Hawkins was a possibility, and there were at least a couple of others, too. In any case, we obviously need the additional CB a lot.

Good move
They didn’t need Ramsey in the first place. The cuts they have made were ones they should have made in the first place. Henry and Ramsey were never going to help this team.

No shock to me.
TNTitan89 hit the nail on the head. Ramsey was a poor excuse for a roster spot. Im not going to say anything negative about Henry because its all been said before. Its frustrating that after five preseason games and 3 regular season games we are still making roster moves that should have been made months ago. Our team is doing patch-work on our roster in week 4. How many months did they have to get it right in the first place? Six? Seven? How many do they need? Eight? Nine? Did they not notice the glaring hole in our secondary(Nick Harper) last year? Did they really think a bunch of late round picks were going to blossom into shut-down corners? Maybe they will, in the future. But the future of the team is now for this Titans fan. I dont want to sit around and wait on late round picks to be good in 2011, because meanwhile Bulluck will be gone, Mawae will be retired, Thornton will be at the end of his career as well as Vanden Bosch, and Kearse, and Hope who would be 32. And with the history this organization has had with re-signing players, I highly doubt they they are going to be in the ballpark when it comes time to re-sign Chris Johnson. I wouldnt even be surprised to see him hold-out in the next few years.
But back to the topic.
Going into this last draft, everyone wanted something different. Some wanted a corner(myself included-unless Percy Harvin were available), some wanted a receiver(almost everyone), some wanted defensive ends and others wanted a middle linebacker.
Was Kenny Britt a good pick? Sure he was. but he would have been an even better pick if he could play corner.

we've got...
ryan mouton. just b/c the guy can’t field a punt return doesnt take away from his ability to play corner.
"Waiting for the return of the Mac"
"Let VY loose, give him the chance to play his heart out. for himself, for the titans...and for mcnair"
"Titans & Texans fan, dont bug me w/your petty b.s., life's confusing enough."
