Tennessee Titans Morning Links: I Always Hated The Bachelor Edition

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Today, after practice, a decision will be made.  Two quarterbacks remain in the competition, but only one will get the sacred rose from coach Fisher.  Stay tuned to MCM to find out who will be the lucky fella, and who will lose-out... seriously though, there's no way Collins starts Sunday, right?

Tennessee_titans_30x21 NFP's Matt Bowen thinks we should trust Fisher's call on the QB situation, and fears Bud Adams going the Jerry Jones/Al Davis route by dictating who should play.  I think Matt Bowen should shut the hell up.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Vinny Fuller is back at practice, making it quite likely that he'll be ready to step-in and solidify the nickel spot on Sunday.

Follow us through the jump for the latest on Cortland's health...

Star-divide

Tennessee_titans_30x21 We really need to see Finnegan practice today if he's going to be active and starting on Sunday, so stay glued to the site to find-out if he's on the field today or not.  I'm not going to feel good about our chances to win any game he doesn't start.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 It'll be 2 more weeks at least before we have the pleasure of watching Nick Harper play CB again.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 I don't know about you folks, but I'm much happier with John David Booty as the developmental 3rd QB than Patrick Ramsey.  Booty could actually develop into a nice starter in this league, which is a ship that sailed years ago for Ramsey.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 You could rename this article 'One Big Sign That I'm A Reactionary'.  You can't declare parity dead as a whole just because there are some very bad teams around the halfway point of the season.  Parity is still alive and well, it's just that this year you're seeing exaggerated effects of good and poor management.  That's always been the deciding factor in the NFL: management and ownership.

Kuharsky made a good point

this morning on the radio. I don’t think there is any shot we don’t see Vince “start” as in he gets announced and plays the first series, but we will more than likely see both guys. Gotta love the 2 QB system. Maybe we should hire Spurrier….

Cue the Disney Movie

Vince Young plays at home against Jacksonville. First game to start since being benched during the same game last year.

Titans rip off 13-3 season after benching Young. Now, a desperate team goes to Vince to resurrect an 0-6 start.

I love the rose from Fisher comment,

that is hilarious ! Anyhow, you are probably right about VY being named the starter for this game. I would LOVE to see John David Booty jingleheimer Schmidt play. I watched him play against Nebraska a couple of years ago when he played for the Trojans. He was fairly good, they (USC) won convincingly unfortunately. He (Booty)) did seem to get rattled a bit when pressured though. I am little concerned about that, because this isn’t college football, it is a whole lot faster and can he adapt?

I doubt we'll ever see him play in a real game.

not this season

i think they are going to try and see if he can legitimately be a starting QB in the future. if so, he would provide a lot more flexibility come draft time. that would be really nice, considering highly drafted QBs are crazy expensive and also generally a crap shoot.
i’m sure the front office would love to be able to take the best sure thing at DE/CB instead of a qb in the first round. i personally would love to see that Suh monster from nebraska under washburn’s tutelage. he’s the perfect tweener that we can use inside and out.

That depends, if VY doesn't do anything wonderful, what would it hurt to throw

Booty out there and give him a shot? I think he has potential, but so do a LOT of other guys that never work out for a number of different reasons. I do like the signning of him, he may have what it takes to make a decent QB. Pete Carrol seems to be able to come up with good QBs year after year and not by accident.

Suh is probably the best defensive player in the country right now.

It is sad the Huskers lost to Iowa St , 8 turnovers! We have some of the same issues as the Titans, no decent QB currently. However the defense is arguably the best in college and Suh is a big part of that. Whoever takes him won’t be disappointed.

OK, top 5 defense in the nation, our offense is extremely weak though.

No QB, and the line is inept. I am going to the NU OU game next weekend and I do wish Bradford was playing, he is great and I am disappointed I can’t see him.

griffin and berry would be an insane safety duo.

no argument here

he will need creative D-Coordinator in the nfl like has had with chavis and kiffin the elder in order to fully utilize him. he needs some one to turn him loose like polamalu in pitt and just let him make plays.

The defense is not even the best in the Big 12

Have you seen the Longhorns play, by chance? Suh is good, but the unit as a whole doesn’t hold a candle to Texas. Even Oklahoma has a good defense; their struggles this year are mostly due to their inept offensive line. In fact, while Suh may be the best DT in the conference (and in college football), Nebraska definitely doesn’t even have the best D-line, falling way behind in that category to the likes of Texas and OU.

Of course I have seen the Longhorns defense play, they are very good. I do hope

by some miracle the Huskers can win the big 12 north and face the Longhorns. I have been dying to see that match up. Our offense wreaks, our defense is solid and holding the team together this year. I do wish the Huskers could recruit a QB that doesn’t throw a pick every 15 attempts, then we might have something. I have to leave, high school playoffs start today. !!!!
