Jeff Fisher - At 0-6, Why Be Coy? Man up, damn you!

If you don't want to hear another Fisher rant, stop reading immediately.

Jeff Fisher's ploy of "we won't reveal who our QB is for competitive reasons" is a heaping load of hot B.S>!

Hello Jeff...earth to Jeff.....you're 0-6 coming off your worst loss in franchise history!  You've not earned the right to use the words "competitive advantage".  If you really wanted to gain an advantage, tell everyone Kerry Collins is your QB and surpise them by playing Vince!  Why even hint that VY may take the field?

You (Fish) have done nothing this past week but show that opposing coaches have zero to fear!  Your jerseygate antics have made you the laughing stock of the league.  You've demeaned your team.  And, you have the balls to be coy with the fans and media as if your "competitive advantage" approach is keeping defensive coordinators up at night?  You're kidding right?

If you don't want to coach this team, then quit!  Let someone do it that has the balls to come out and say "our starting QB is going to be Vince Young."  Our gameplan - pain.  Pain for your defenders when we run for 300 yards against your defense.  Pain for your QB as we bring the kitchen sink.  Pain for your fans as they suffer the agony of a blowout like we've had to endure all week!  We're taking 0-6 out on you - Jaguars

If needed, I will gladly volunteer to come to the practice facility and put my foot up your ass if that's what you need!

Man up and get it together, will ya?

"You haven't earned the right to use the words 'competitive advantage'"

False. NFL COaches do not have to earn their way to using those words.

Fisher needs to earn a lot of shit right now.

It is obviously not good for Fisher to continue to frustrate the public at large. He’s on his way to getting fired, and frankly, the plain vanilla approach of Titans football is easy to gameplan against regardless of who is under center.

so basically

you have a problem with him not telling the entire world what his gameplan is for sunday? get a clue and get over yourself.

he doesn't have to tell us his whole gameplan... we already know what's gonna happen.

it’s the same old play that fisher has always used. he has no variety.

by TitansFanForever on Oct 27, 2009 8:23 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Maybe it is the same...

…but that same game plan got them to a 13-3 record last year. It just had the execution that it’s not had so far this year.

by J3G77 on Oct 27, 2009 8:47 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

the main reason we were 13-3 was our easy schedule last year.

we are a mediocre team and always have been. our schedule just makes our record look better or worse. hence the reason we are 0 -6 this year cuz we have arguably the toughest schedule in the nfl this year.

by TitansFanForever on Oct 27, 2009 11:10 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

No argument there..

..we had an easier schedule last year, but we played hard and executed plays well. That’s not been happening at all this year. Everyone also stayed heathy, that also hasn’t happened this year.

Wow, you just don't even read what people post, do you?

Fischer has certainly never had a problem before this week in naming his starting QB. If you could point me to your criticism of Fischer “telling the entire world his gameplan” during those weeks, I’d really appreciate it.

FISHER.

He’s only been a head coach for 16 seasons, can we get his name right?

by hartley on Oct 27, 2009 9:30 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

he's not saying

who the QB will be because he wants the jags to prepare for both.

this is kindergarten simple folks.

You're right,

if the Jags have to prepare to stop Chris Johnson AND to stop Chris Johnson, I’m sure that puts the Titans at a huge advantage.

by ctex80 on Oct 27, 2009 10:34 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

please.....

dont tell me you think VY and KC are the same QB. b/c that’s what your saying.

"Waiting for the return of the Mac"
"Let VY loose, give him the chance to play his heart out. for himself, for the titans...and for mcnair"
"Titans & Texans fan, dont bug me w/your petty b.s., life's confusing enough."

by kg_2005 on Oct 27, 2009 4:01 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually,

I’m saying that the Jags are going to try to take away Chris Johnson, and cram 8 in the box, and dare whichever QB we start to beat them.

If this was San Fran, or some other team we never play, that’d be one thing, but the Jags have always stopped Vince, and they seemed to have Kerry’s number as well.

My point is, Fisher is being coy for his own sake, everyone knows that Vince is starting, Fisher just doesn’t want to say as much because he’d rather play Collins. Whatever competitive advantage gained by delaying this announcement is minimal at best. That’s what I’m actually saying.

im not trying to say this is some masterful strategy

that is going to revolutionize our lack luster offense. but installing a spy fundamentally alters your pass coverage scheme. it just does. so i really don’t think you can say it has no impact.

from Fisher himself:

(so what do you gain by not telling us?)

"I think you can answer that question yourself. If you have two quarterbacks that are cardboard cut-outs and they’re identical in their athletic ability and such, then I think it’s one thing, but if you have two that have similar qualities… We’ve seen over the years with Vince here and Kerry that people defend them differently.

Yeah but they're essentially the same Quarterback

I mean, to defend Young, just include him in your Run defense packages in practice!

/ends sarcasm

Is there really THAT much difference in preparing your team for KC v VY?

Other than designating a “QB Spy” for each play, I don’t see too much difference in preparation for the Jags. They already have a game plan for Collins that seemed to work well a few weeks ago, no?

You act as if they might have to recreate the wheel.

considering they are polar opposites

in terms if what they bring to the table as a qb, yes.

Hal, come on

are they really polar opposites?

They’ll lump VY into the defensive scheme against the run. Other than that, I don’t see any need for their defensive coordinator to fear Jeff Fisher’s “secret.”

Fisher is using coach speak because he’s fighting off pressure from Bud Adams, in my humble opinion.

yes they are polar opposites

their only commonality is being a bad QB.

Maybe he doesn't know.

Kerry is his guy, Vince is Bud’s. He may still be trying to decide.

In which case, I think Fisher is the kind of guy who would go with coachspeak rather tell the media he doesn’t know soemthing.

by hartley on Oct 27, 2009 9:32 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

My point, attitude v. coach speak

Let’s get more attitude starting with the Coach. Fish hasn’t been working the opposite recently (jerseygate anyone?).

you make the mistake

of thinking what hes says in the locker room has anything to do with what he says to the media.

okay

so, he wasn’t speaking to the locker room when he said “I want to feel like a winner?”

HMMM… Keith Bulluck seemed to take offense
