What should the Titans do in 2010 at the QB position?
What do you think the Titans should do at QB next season and why?
Should the Titans stick with Vince Young and use their better draft position to fill other needs?
Should they draft a new QB early and write Young off as a bust?
Or should they do both... keep Young around AND draft another QB to push him? The best man wins.
My opinion is well known by now for anyone who has paid attention. I think he should play the rest of this season.
But if he doesn't show something to make us all believe he has turned the corner and will finally become at least
a good NFL QB, I say the team needs to let him go and try drafting someone else.
Of course, I am leaving off the possibility of Collins being in the mix, for obvious reasons.
Poll is up. So what do you think Tennessee needs to do with their QB position in 2010?

Different Direction
I’m all in favor of letting Vince be our QB, but only if we let him play his game. Put him in the shotgun and let him make plays.
If we are dead set on having a pure pocket passer, then Vince is never going to be the answer. So, if the coaching staff and front office want a pocket passer then I think we should look elsewhere. I’m a bit sour on the whole, drafting a stud QB, sort of idea. I would lean more towards using our first round pick on strenghtening our defense, or maybe even trading down for more picks.
If it’s a pocket passer we want, then maybe we take a look at Chad Pennington (if he is healthy) next year. Maybe even Jason Campbell.
Collins certainly hasn’t done much to help the team this year, but QB doesn’t seem to be one of our biggest problems, IMO. We need a defense that actually forces teams to punt once in awhile, and a receiver that can catch a ball.

I agree 100%
If they aren’t going to let him do what he do, then let him go so he can do it somewhere else and stop wasting his youth! He don’ t deserve to be on the sideline!

Too early to tell....
See if VY has a future by playing him now.
If he does not, aim for Clausen in the draft.
Otherwise, if Fisher is still around, try to push a different “game manager” QB with a little more upside (Pennington, e.g.). Eat the cutting “fee” for letting KC go if he does not retire, and let Clausen learn under Pennington (or whomever) for a full year or two (like McNair, Rodgers).
If the veteran goes down a few weeks into the season, then you at least had a full camp and part of a regular season before throwing Clausen into the deep end.
However, if VY pans out to be something very special, then renegotiate his contract and keep him.

Where is Akili Smith?
The Titans need to get in touch with him.

If the Titans need to get a hold of Smith badly enough, I suggest…
… they try looking at his hometown’s filling station. His job now is probably pumping gas.
I figure the only signals he’s calling nowadays is when he shouts to the customers
“Want me to check your oil for ya?”…
