Tennessee Titans Fan Approval Poll - Week 6
It's Tuesday, that means it's time for our weekly Fan Approval Poll. Remember:
Here's how it works: Below you will see a poll with choices from 0 to 10. You should vote in the poll taking into account all aspects of the Titan Organization. These should include, but are not limited to, ownership, front office, coaching staff, players, product on the field and even gameday experience. 0 being 0% approval and 10 being 100%.
Also make sure to leave a comment to explain why you voted like you did! And remember, this is YOUR poll, not MCM's. You vote like you choose!
Our average approval rating from week 5 was 30.9%. We will begin charting our ratings after a few weeks of results. And we do realize that we are probably going to bottom out this week.
[Ed. Note: I realize this is Wednesday. Coach Fisher's little escapade yesterday threw me off. We will keep the poll open until Friday evening this week.]

Big ole zero
When a face of your organization is wearing the laundry of a bitter rival, something is off. No excuses. NONE.
I now regret voting a zero last week.
My approval has definitely dropped, and I didn’t think that was possible.

Gramsey is going to have
to start adding negative numbers to the poll
Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles even though gramsey hates it.
Can the highest number be 0?
and go down from there

I voted zero.
Hard to find anything to like these days. I’m at the point where even watching the games pisses me off so much that it ruins my weekend.
Can we put in negative numbers?

Not really my team
But I rated 4, simply because Chris Johnson had 128 yards at 7.5 YPC against a team that was specifically trying to stop him. The guy’s a stud.

oops
that wasn’t my reason though. It was because I’m very happy with how the Titans have played so far.

What six people gave our organization a 10?
damn we suck this year

fisher
definitely should have held the peyton joke til after this poll launched.
i voted a 3. voting a zero is kinda stupid, i think, because there is no question in my mind that things could get a lot worse over the next 10 games. 0-6 against a brutal schedule is one thing. wait till we start getting owned by the NFC West. hold your zeroes folks. it will be a lot more fun if we all jump off the bridge at the same time.

I voted a 1 for that exact reason
At least the loss came to the Patriots, if we were to get destroyed by the Rams or Bills in the upcoming weeks that’d be real ugly…

I gave a 7.
And no I’m not a troll, I visit regularly and post sparingly. I think the joke was probably not the smartest idea, but I wasn’t offended by it at all, and I’m also in the minority of people who think it would be absolutely insane to fire Jeff Fisher. He’s a good coach, going through a rough stretch. I know it won’t happen the same as last time but this team was 0-5 a few years back and finished 8-8. This isn’t exactly a new development. GIven the fact that the team, (with the exception of Keith Bulluck) quit on Sunday, I think the players deserve a poll this week too. The performance was absolutely despicable on Sunday and yes there were mistakes in coaching, but the performance is solely on the players this week, no-one else. PERIOD.
I appreciate the well thought out response.
I don’t think you are a troll. You actually have reasoning for voting the way you did…..and took the time to post it.
No problem with that!

Agreed.
I gave a seven. I still think Fisher is good. He’s having a much tougher time solving the problems this year, though. Rookie corners in the last few games, Tony Brown celebrating for stupid tackles and penalties, dropped passes, bad throws, and multiple other missed opportunities drive me nuts. Bad defensive strategies (thank you CC) and bland offensive plays are even worse. But, I still look to what else is out there and what this team has been capable of doing with most of the same players and staff. Anyone who votes zero on a 0-10 scale must not know much about the Raiders organization. Davis…crazy, Cable…punched his own staff=crazy, Russell…terrible (and they had the opportunity to play Garcia). That’s just this year, and the Raiders org has been awful for a while. To say that the Titans org is below a five seems a little like a vote tantrum given what they’ve accomplished. These same people were praising Collins and Fisher last year through the first 10 games, but threw another tantrum after the 11th.
Ugh. You are insufferable.

Dropped passes. Why is Fred Graves still coaching? That’s on Fisher for not finding a replacement.
Bad throws. Can it get worse than Kerry Collins? You at least have an option on the bench. Whether he can perform remains to be seen, but there are not more excuses for Kerry. That’s on Fisher.
Bad defensive strategies. Again, Fisher hired this guy. It’s his staff. And, Fish is a defensive coach. Take over the playcalling. If he isn’t working, fix it yourself.
Bland offensive plays. Dinger is Fisher’s guy. Fish shares in this responsibility.
Bottom line, you’re pointing fingers at EVERYONE except Fisher. He’s the only one connected to EVERY problem. Voting a 7 when the Titans just lost in the biggest blowout in NFL history and are 0-6 in a season where they were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders is ignorant and stupid.
Not true at all my friend,
Yes Jeff Fisher is one of the problem’s this team is suffering, but first… Bad passes – sure Kerry isn’t the best option, but Vince Young has shown he CAN’T make the throws yet, YES I still believe he can learn and make the throws and deserves a chance, but in the snow, against the patriots, not really making much sense.
Dropped Passes. Again the Patriot game magnified everything (as any 59 point beatdown will) but this HAS to be on the players. Does everybody think that its the wide recievers coaches fault for dropping passes? Hell no it isn’t. These guys get tons of money to PLAY FOOTBALL. They’re taught techniques to better improve their natural athletic talent. Dropped passes are on players, PERIOD. Case in point Terrell Owens, his wide receiver coach hasn’t been fired in Buffalo, Dallas or Philadelphia.
As for bland offensive plays, I feel like that’s subjective to any individual fan. Sure some plays work better no matter what such as hot routes on all out blitzes but bland offensive play calling isn’t what loses games the majority of the time. Bad defense and bad execution are.
Which leads me to the major point I concede to your argument. When we lost Jim Schwartz, I said to myself, I hope it works out but I don’t THINK it will especially given the injuries and rookies we have to deal with. I never wanted Cecil in this staff and Jeff could fire him, but I don’t think it would help at all at this point in time. We’ve had a disastrous six weeks for sure but putting all of this blame on Jeff Fisher is “ignorant and stupid”- Yes he deserves some, if not a lot. But if your going to tell me that you think he ISN’T one of the top 10 coaches in this league you are out of your mind.
Re:

No where did I say that Vince would be better. But, I can’t understand the reason to start Kerry any more. It’s less about expecting a lot more out of Vince and more about an arrogance that Fisher can do what he wants with disregard to everyone around him including the owner.
Dropped Passes. Again the Patriot game magnified everything (as any 59 point beatdown will) but this HAS to be on the players.
I’m not even really talking about the Pats game specifically. It’s been monumentally bad for years now. And, for some reason this guy still has a job. As for your TO reference, at least there is (or was) a trade off for explosiveness. Our guys drop passes, and aren’t explosive. It’s not even just the drops. They are bad at everything. On some level, the WR coach has to be blamed if we’re consistently this bad.
As for bland offensive plays, I feel like that’s subjective to any individual fan.
If you think our “bland playcalling” and performance on offense is “subjective”, you’re not paying attention. Have you thought about how hard it is to score zero points when the other team scores 59? I could care less about what conditions you’re in, there’s no excuse. That is impossibly difficult to do for a professional football team.
all valid points superhorn
I guess I just think too many people are trying to pin it ALL on Fish when he clearly is one of the better coaches in this league. By no means am I giving him a free pass, he’s made some odd decisions this year and that’s not even debatable. For playcalling I probably shouldn’t have used the word subjective, I just think that they playcalling hasn’t been terribly poor all six games this year, it just hasn’t. The defense dropped the ball against Houston and Jacksonville. Yes the offense didn’t show up in Jacksonville either, but we’ve got no shot to win down 17 in the second quarter. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree about WR’s. And don’t get me wrong, I’m all for Vince Young, he’s been my favorite athlete from the moment I saw him play for the first time, I want him in…I just think from what we saw last year with Kerry he deserved the shot to try and right this ship and it didn’t help his terrible start to the season by playing the Pats, in the snow. That all being said, I think it’s time to give the reigns back to VY and let everyone see what he can do. I’m still in the super minority who believe he can still be elite if he works his tail off for the rest of his career. I’m just not convinced that someone with that much God given raw talent can’t produce in this league.
I voted 0
Because after any 59-0 game i have 0 approval. If you asked me later this week i’d probably say 1 or 2. But it wouldn’t be much either way.

Although I previously didn't like this question, today I vote a 1
The cheerleaders are still hot. So, I at least give the organization a 1.
As of today, anyone involved is implicit in enabling Fisher’s methodical destruction of this team.
The Titans are Sucky, That's Why We Need Chucky! Fire Fisher, Hire Gruden!
Bring Back Vince Young!

Who’s voting “10”?
Come on, now. I love the team as much as anyone.
But 0-6 and 59-0 are hard numbers for anyone to swallow.
I’ve been a fan of the organization since 1977. But I can’t bring myself to vote “10”.
Last year I would have. Before this season I would have. Now, I just can’t…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...
That would figure.

I voted 7
and maybe my number is a little off. If I based this number just off this week’s performance it would probably have been 2 or 3, but I am basing it on approval of the organization as a whole.
My positive points -
-Bud Adams not stepping in and forcing his hand destroying any credibility that Fisher has left. Sure our team is self destructing, but at least we don’t have an owner like Al!
-K Bull. Simple as that. As long as this team keeps Keith my approval won’t drop below a 2. The man has the right attitude, the right work ethic, and connects with the fans.
- History. I am a die hard Titans fan. Most teams have a bad season every now and again, especially when they have as many aging players as we do. I proudly wore my Titans colors when the team sucked before and I will proudly wear it even if we don’t win another game. This team has bounced back before and they will again.
-Charity. Even when our team is losing and the mebers of the staff and the players themselves are probably feeling at their lowest, our guys are still classy and doing their charity work. Yeah Fisher’s jersey joke was bad, but he was still doing charity work. K-bull didn’t miss his charity work. It says a lot about a teams character and integrity that they can say “Hey while winning is important and our jobs, helping people who need it is still important too.”
Negatives -
-KC. I loved game manager Kerry because he protected the ball. I am hating this “I have something to prove” Kerry. If you can’t complete a pass quit throwing the damn ball. He should at least have the decency to tuck it and run possibly getting himself hurt and ending the QB controversy.
-Spirit. The players and coaches can say all they want that the team hasn’t given up. Apparently they aren’t watching films of their own games.
Finally one statement and I don’t mean to offend anyone since I am in the minority here.
I think if your approval rating is zero… it’s time to find a new team. I can see and understand a 1. I really can, but a zero? If you have absolutely no approval of a team in a poll that encompases EVERYTHING about the organization, not just the record, the play, or the coach… then why cheer at all? Can you not even approve of the fact that our players are very open and still speak to the fans and press? Can you not approve of the charity and good works our team does? Hell if nothing else approve of the fact we have the coolest uniforms and the hottest throwbacks of any team out there!
cant argue with this. well said.

IS A 5 ACCEPTABLE?
We’re about a 5 but is that good enough?
I’ve been a season ticket holder since Memphis and with all the “parity” we should be experienceing with salary caps if our administration is doing a good job we should be competetive year in and out.
It’s very frustrating to see Pittsburg, Baltimore, New England and other teams always at the top of the heap. Going to home games when they have such a fan base is sad.
If we aren’t a 7 or 8 why not? If this administration and coaching staff can’t deliver a competitive team year in and out it’s time for a change. There are some proven coaches available!
I think Coach Fisher is a good man and a good coach (a 5-6) is that good enough?
