Wiedmer: Is Fisher on path of Shanahan?
From the Chattanooga Times-Free Press.
I thought this quote was especially interesting:
"Players start to get tired of the same routine, the same kind of play calling. A new fresh coat of paint sometimes does a whole lot of good."

I buy it
I think in FIsher’s case, he would be hired in a second by another team if Bud cuts him loose. But I agree that his routine in Tennessee may just be getting stale. Sometimes you need to change jobs to get yourself re-energized.

Of course he would be… if he doesn’t want to go into TV or something instead.
I’ll give him the rest of this season to try & fix the problems. But unless he shows some drastic improvement, I think it’s time for him to go. Take VY with him, too…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

dude all you do is hate on VY every chanceyou get stfu already..............................
no one cares what you think, and VY is our only chance to salvage a season, you weren’t talkin all this shit when he got us to 8-8 or took us to the playoffs for the first time in a long time at 10-6. Sick of fair weather fans.

I'm convinced Fisher is gone...
…even if they win out.
The question then becomes will ownership go with a retread coach or an unproven commodity.

I think we need to make drastic changes to our team starting with releasing Fisher..
First of all our defensive scheme simply isn’t going to cut it. We’re too predictable and can’t pressure the QB in a variety of ways like other can. I think we need to consider switching to a 3-4 defense, or at least be able to run it part of the time, to be able to confuse opposing QB’s and to get the defense off the field on third downs.
Secondly the offense we run must go. Our ground and pound style works great if we have a lead, but when we get behind our offense goes into def con zero. We need a more balanced attack with a capable QB that can keep us in any game with his arm.
Is Vince Young that guy? I have no idea, but I guarantee you he will not succeed in the current system in place. It is not tailored to his strengths and doesn’t give him a chance to be the playmaker that he is.
damn we suck this year
