A theory
Even granted a D-coord change and loss of a key DT, how could the 13-3 Titans of last year turn around this year and set a 30 year record with an epic 59-0 loss to the Patriots. With -7 passing yards to boot!
The only answer is that they mailed it in. I see two ways that happens. First, the Titans have given up on the season and have no confidence in coaching staff or team management, and just didn't have the heart to play. Second, they wanted to seal the deal on coaching changes and purposely threw a game in a dramatic way. If you're going to throw one, what team is going to take advantage of the openings you give them and run up the score more than the Patriots? And easy to drop passes and fumble with all that snow around. Oops. It slipped.
Personally, to lose as historically as they did yesterday, I think the second is more likely. Although it requires a conspiracy theory to believe it, I'd almost rather believe that they did it on purpose.
In any case, either scenario, doesn't matter, I'm pretty certain that this is Coach Fisher's last year here, for better or worse.

i think they simply aren’t clicking right now. surely they wouldn’t throw a game. but who knows. i do agree this is it for fisher this year.

Just a silly theory
It would be hard for a whole team to conspire like that and it not leak. A few key players could do it, though. Either way, it was a job-breaker of a game for Fisher.
In other news, Drew Bennett is on ESPN today telling the “VY missed game plane and had to be baby talked into flying to the game late on private jet” rookie year story. While that kind of stuff would certainly stick with his team-mates for a long time, and help explain a general lack of support for him, it’s a bit rude of Drew (who I remember celebrating giddily with VY after a win over the Colts) to back-stab him with this old story in public.

Gee, ya think Bennett is bitter about his career being over?
Betcha that’s it right there…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

i think its more likely we all knew brady would shred the titans defence, and due to a few costly turnovers and blown coverages through play action, led us to a huge early deficit and this team was just tired of it all and it fell apart. I remembr thinking when it was like 30whatever – 0 and the snow was falling and it was -10 with the wind chill – “how do you go back out there and still play?”, and clearly thats what they thought too.

The whole scheme was masterminded by Vince
who used encrypted body language communications to orchestrate the coup from the bench. (Vince’s evil laughter is heard reverberating in the distance.)

Eureka!
It’s absolutely brillant! Get rid of Fisher and Collins in one grand scheme. Why didn’t I think of this?
