Harris a better fit at Center?
There are some around the league that think that LeRoy Harris may be a better fit at center for this game. Mawae is a finesse guy and Harris is more of a mauler. Mawae weighs around 280 and Harris goes around 320. With the Ravens running a 3-4 defense, Haloti Ngata will be lining up right over the center and the only knock on Mawae is sometimes he gets pushed around by big nose guards. I know the Titans will miss Mawae's veteran presence on the mental side, but the physical edge may go to Harris, especially against the 3-4. Coach Fisher said this week that the Ravens will be remarking after the game how strong Harris is. Let's hope so!

he may have a physical edge
but what makes baltimore such a dangerous defense is their ability to disguise rushers and blitzers. this is where mawae is a HUGE asset as a wily veteran who can get the blocking assignments lined up pre-snap.

Yeah, but the Center has to block the Nose Tackle.
If he can do it by himself, then that frees up the Guards, which is ALWAYS a better plan against a 3-4 because the Guards can then pick up not one but two blitzers.

harris vs. ngata 1on1
is not what i hope to see very often. if he can stop ngata 1on 1 then we have a hell of a center in the making. i just don’t think there is anyway to know right now exactly how good harris is or isn’t. in 8 hours we may have an answer, one way or another.

Well
He doesn’t give up much weight and from what I hear he’s very strong.

that's the word anyway
and it wouldn’t exactly be unheard of for this organization to pull another talented lineman out of its ass. here’s to hoping!

This will be one of the most interesting things
to watch about tomorrow’s game.

It's amazing that we're even talking about this
It goes to show what a great job the Titans do with drafting Offensive linemen and coaching them up.
I think most teams would be devastated if they lost a pro-bowl center.

Harris's Problem in the Game
was executing shotgun snaps. That was ugly.
If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

you can't replace a 7x ProBowler and 3x All-Pro
with a 2X starter. simple as that. harris will probably be a solid player in the future though.
