The Bolts
I think we would be fine for either of them but I think we end up more beat up after a game with Baltimore.
by Oden1 on Jan 4, 2009 12:38 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
beat up? you mean dead and sitting at home after a meeting with the Ravens.
by raven on Jan 4, 2009 3:11 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs

They need to figure out a way to put Flacco on his butt!
by ArmyTitansFan on Jan 4, 2009 1:46 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
and get a first down or 2
which wont be easy here

They
should actually try to block of Chad, and NOT throw it deep, it’s kamikaze.
by RhiNo6705 on Jan 4, 2009 1:52 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I like our chances
As long as we limit the turnovers, I don’t see Flacco and co putting up too many points on us
by jeanl0uis on Jan 4, 2009 1:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
That is the EXACT same thing Miami was telling itself all week. You can’t bank on limiting turnovers to win a game against the Ravens. You’ll have to go after Flacco early and often. But against a Miami team rated in the top 10 in sacks, we allowed exactly zero sacks over 60 minutes today. I think it’s going to end up being a very long game for everybody in the trenches.

titans dont have to blitz though buddy
flacco had man coverage once they started to blitz on every play in the last half or so. the titans will still drop 7 into coverage. whether or not haynesworth or KVB are ready to go will be crucial but the dolphins defense is nothing like us. flacco will pay against the titans if he is as inaccurate as he was at times today.

The Titans are going to put seven people into coverage against a team known for its run-first philosophy? Haynesworth might be able to dunk, but he can’t be everywhere at once.
by Ampallang on Jan 4, 2009 9:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
well obviously the line backers won't drop if they run the ball

is it me or is every major award winner out of the playoffs already?
coach, comeback, mvp, and offensive rookie didnt qualify or have been knocked out…they haven’t announced defensive player yet, if it’s ed reed look for us to knock him out next week

i cant believe that the #1 seed gets us a mathcup with the ravens.
last team i wanna face in the entire AFC. ive been saying it for months.

Ravens have several obvious holes
Put ‘em on a grill and smoke em hot over hickory chips. Can’t think of a better team to beat in the playoffs!!!!!!!
by Cajuncub on Jan 4, 2009 3:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I doubt the Tennessee coaches share your enthusiasm. And I’m not sure what all the obvious holes are. I mean, last I checked, the Titans just barely eked out their win over us in overtime last time.
We have a quarterback capable of airing it out as well as any other rookie I’ve ever seen and a receiver in Mason that will catch anything in the general vicinity, busted shoulder or no. We have one of the best-ranked run games in the league, and three very different running backs to change up the pace. Our offensive line — the youngest in the NFL — has been getting better and better all season long. Our offensive coordinator is one of the best in the game.
Where do you even start with our defense? Nobody runs on us (with the notable exception of NY). We have the number two pass defense. Our line is big and linebackers are fast. Our secondary is the most opportunistic in the league. We put pressure on the quarterback and force turnovers. Our Defensive Coordinator is a genius.
Our special teams ace is going to the Pro Bowl. Matt Stover is one of the top kickers of all time. Hauschka has a monster leg. Koch is hands-down one of the best punters in the league. We play the field position game as well as anybody else in the league.
I’m not saying we’re invincible, because there are four teams out there that would say differently. But to say that this game is going to be a walk in the park for the Titans is folly. Get set for a classic playoff battle between two great smash mouth teams.

I would say that 95% of us here
know full well this will be no walk in the park.

Haven’t you seen the headlines today? Ed Reed has transcended into some kind of lesser deity status.

no easy games in the playoffs
its big boy time, let’s man up and pound them
by jeanl0uis on Jan 4, 2009 2:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
once again you gotta run or stop the run to win in the playoffs
we can do both
by stetix01 on Jan 4, 2009 2:55 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
That is why I am confident
Arizona found a way to run against ATL but it is not there normal way of doing business. Miami got thrown out of their normal game plan and it didn’t work out for them. SD controlled the game by running against an Indy defense that couldn’t stop the run. We just have to play our normal gameplan. Should keep us comfortable.
by ArmyTitansFan on Jan 4, 2009 2:58 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
normal gameplan in week 5
BAL rush yds-132
TEN rush yds-47
of course there’s always that pesky thing called points
TEN-13
BAL-10
but I’m just making a point against your run/stop the run argument.

to be honest with you, sproles wouldnt have been any picnic
not that we’re out of the woods with that either
by stetix01 on Jan 4, 2009 2:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Agreed
I could def see the Chargers pulling off the upset next week, who knows if Big Ben has any lingering effects from the concussion
by jeanl0uis on Jan 4, 2009 2:58 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I would be happy to see the Steelers upset just to quiet their fans.
by ArmyTitansFan on Jan 4, 2009 2:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
haha yup
and so that we don’t have to hear that stupid terrible towel talk brought up again
by jeanl0uis on Jan 4, 2009 2:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The Steelers must have the most obnoxious fans in the league (by a very small margin, I’m sure). No other city is so messed up that its football fans have tried to get as far away from it as possible.

We're ready
Just hope you know we’re not going to give the game away like Miami did.
by theologic on Jan 4, 2009 3:08 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Miami hardly gave away the game. We rattled their QB, forced turnovers, and capitalized. We took that game into our own hands and won it on our terms. Hopefully your Titans will have an answer for our opportunistic defense.
