Tennessee Titans to Play in the Hall of Fame Game

The NFL announced today that the Titans and Bills will play in the Hall of Fame game next season and will wear uniforms from the old AFL days.  This means the Titans will get a 5th preseason game.

5 preseason games scare me.  I'm always worried about an injury, however it will be nice to have a nationally televised game to start the year off.  i am pretty sure training camp will start earlier too.  It should be interesting with a lot of Bills fans since Ralph Wilson and Bruce Smith are going to be inducted.

This is the first time I have actually been able to look toward next season.  The Ravens game was 3 weeks ago today and I am still crushed.  We very easily could be playing tomorrow for all of the marbles.  I'm enjoying the player reviews and hey, let's lay off Alge Crumpler.  His fumble really only cost us points (crap, we would of won with 4 more points).  But we did get a FG off the field position.  It was all of the mistakes....ughhh, I have to stop thinking about it now.

Just Curious

In the Hall of Fame Game you’ll be wearing the uniforms of the Houston OIlers. I’m curious to see what you guys generally think about the Oilers legacy. There are a lot of people in Houston, myself included, that were evastated by the Oilers leaving and still hate Bud Adams to this day because of it.

Having said that, we undertand that you guys are football fans and probably didn’t care where you got a team from, as long as you got a team. I’m just curious to see what you guys think about having all of the Oilers Franchise records to include their uniforms and Hall of Fame Players. Thanks.

Let's get a better fight song.

I have been a fan of the franchise for a while....

I was OK with the move because it moved the team 10 hours closer to my house! To me it’s like I cheering for the same team as always. I do miss those light blue jerseys though!

Side note- I spelled Tennessee wrong on the title…

I liked the Oilers

In the original Tecmo Bowl, you could set the quarter time to 15 mins and have Moon and all four receivers maxed out by the second half. =)

Wasn't an Oiler fan particularly

I was just an NFL fan, so if the Titans had come here and left the franchise records, etc. in Houston I would not have minded. I was just pumped to finally have an NFL team in the same town I lived in. I respect their Oilers history since they brought it with them, though.

Adams has not seemed to me to be too bad of an owner. I’m sure if he moved the team out I’d feel different. So far, he seems to be pretty hands off from what we can see.

Titans Move

I have been a Titans fan since the days of the Oilers, it actually didn’t make me that mad when they moved because i moved when they did, away from Houston, so i sort of felt like it was more than a coincidence, sorry to my peeps in Houston but, you did get a team back and i believe they will be good in the years to come, plus the fact that you get to play us in a rivalry game twice a year. I remember the Warren Moon to Haywood Jefferies and Lorenzo White with the Run and Shoot Offense and also remember the heartbreak of the comeback when we blew a 30 point lead against the Bills in the playoffs, so the music city miracle was one of my sweetest revenge sports memories, but i couldn’t just not like the Titans/Oilers because they moved, wouldn’t have been fair to guys like FISH, and Steve McNair, and Eddie George it wasn’t the players and coaches fault all they could do was deal with the situation that was put in front of them.
