I doubt it.

What are the odds that a current mid-round QB are going to come in and out-perform Chris Simms? And why take that chance?

They would be cheaper than Simms

and there is no way they think Simms is the future. If they have lost faith in VY, and I believe they have, they need to start looking to the future. Collins probably only has 2 years left at best.

He may be. I just don’t think he is.

Fair enough.

He was a successful starter in Tampa. I mean, I know he wasn’t AWESOME or anything, but he also wasn’t actively bad, either. Still, that’s more than can be said for a lot of first round picks.

Not this year. I think we go through this season with the three we have. Also, I think this is the year VY proves he doesn’t belong here and either asks for a trade or retires from football completely. So next year we look for a QB to battle Simms for the position in the future after the Kerry Collins era is over.
