Michael Crabtree
Long time listener first time caller (kind of)
Anyways I was just wandering how everybody here felt about Michael Crabtree and the prospects of acquiring him.
What will it take to trade up(even though it is doubtful the titans would)?
In my own opinion I would think he would be as far a way from a bust as any receiver in recent memory but he did come from a pass happy offense any thoughts?

Keep dreaming
Titans fans have been asking for a receiver in the first round for two years now. It ain’t happening and if it was, they wouldn’t trade up to do it.
And, I’m not convinced he’s worth trading up for. The only receiver I’ve seen with enough potential to warrant trading up…Calvin Johnson. Receivers are sooo hard to evaluate.
I don’t know where our pick is this year. Let’s say it’s 28th (ie we’re the best of the defeateds.) Let’s also say we have to trade up to at least pick 5 to get Crabtree. We’d have to give up this years 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, 4th rounder, and 5th rounder as well as next years 1st rounder.

crabtree probably isn't as good as he looks
big 12 plays no defense.

Something to point out...
OU held the “explosive” Florida offense to 24. Florida scored 30 or more against every SEC team they played.
The Big 12 didn’t perform especially well this bowl season, but their defensive stats weren’t exactly horrid either…

you took the bait, i knew you would
that stat you put out there is nice but i prefer the one that shows how florida held OK 40….repeat…40 points below their season average. come on man, be serious.

Wouldn't that make it moot, then?
I mean Big 12 offense under performs which tells us that Big 12 defenses suck. Conversely, Big 12 defense performs well, which tells us that maybe SEC defenses aren’t all that.
And, for the record, I knew it was bait!

except that you are talking about
a 6 point fluctuation and i am talking about a 40 point fluctuation. you can blame 6 points on an off night (like tebow’s first ever 2 int game). but 40? 40 says there is some serious fraudulence going on.

I'm not sure we're going to get anywhere
By arguing about the point differential from just one game. But, as you pointed out, it was Tebow’s first ever 2 int game.

I gotta agree with Hal
I don’t think he’s worth the money he will end up getting.
I believe if the Titans are going to draft a wide receiver (which we wont) there will be some quality ones available when we pick. Or possibly even in the 2nd round.

Guy's a pro.
I’m fairly certain that the guy will be pretty damned good. He’s good or even great in size, speed, and hands, and, lest we forget, he’s been voted the most valuable college receiver two years running (that’s the Biletnikoff Award). I think he’s going to end up being a fantastic pro. However, I also think that Seattle, picking at number 5, desperately wants a stud receiver. There’s no way he falls past them, and there’s no way the Titans give up what they’d need to give up to move above them. I would rather see them concentrate on maybe getting Crabtree’s Big 12 compatriot Juaquin Iglesias in the 2nd Round and addressing CB in the first.

I would take him
Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles even though gramsey hates it.

there's no way the titans get him
especially since we would have to give up so much to trade into the top 5.
with that said, i think he’s going to be a great pro. he’s no megatron, but he’s pretty damn close.
a more possible wish would be harvin. if he ends up coming out, i would love to see the titans draft him.
