Collins

Well I've got sorta good news, it looks like Kerry Collins wants to be here. I just read an article on ESPN about him stating that and it gave me hope that we can sign him and big angry Albert this offeason. I think Kerry would take a pay cut to stay here and have the oppurtunity to start and I really think thats good for Vince too. Thoughts?

Don't think it's good for Vince...

After three years, he needs to start producing. You don’t hear many stories of quarterbacks taking 4 years to learn the ropes. I don’t think an extra year on the bench helps him. In fact, I think it could be detrimental because of how frustrated he’ll get.

I would agree in most cases

But I think Vince was pretty good in ’06.

And he was serviceable in ’07

I think he has all the tools so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start and do well after 4 years.

In my opinion

Young QBs spending time on the bench gives them time to take in the game at a slower pace so they learn better. I think this time on the bench will really help him develop. I won’t be worried if Collins comes back, and it’s not because I’m a PSU fan :-)~

How long did Carson Palmer sit?

And he was pretty good up until the knee injury.

He sat one year.

Yeah you're right

Seems like longer for some reason. Nevermind.

Aaron Rodgers

Sat for a while… He’s pretty good.

Collins should be our starter…

we dont need him

collins wont repeat VY is ready to be a starter. we sign collins will put us in a pickel when two or three year contract runs up. we have a qb for the future lets use him. himendinger is going to make VY better, where Norm chow couldnt. Chris johnson and vince young in the same backfield makes for a very fast offense. the equation is one part VY mixed with one part CJ = superbowl. VY+CJ=SB

Holy Crap...

How does anyone on this site know that Collins can’t repeat his success. I think he can get even better. Vince is not ready to be the starter. If so, Fisher would say so.

by Big Bad Bulluck on Jan 13, 2009 8:58 PM CST up reply actions

Disagree, BBB

Fisher is going to keep this close to the vest.

And, no one knows for sure that Collins can or can’t repeat his success. But, if you’re sticking with that, you need to also at least acknowledge the possibility that Vince might be ready.

I'm still not sold on Kerry to be honest.

I dunno why. Just something doesn’t feel right. Maybe it’s because of the Kerry Collins I’ve seen in past seasons up until this year. I just don’t feel comfortable you know? And I know he did a great job this year, I’m not ignoring it., just have a hard time trusting him.

Managing the Game is great unless your behind.

I dont think collins will ever win the big game, only because he not a come back from behind QB. When i say come back i dont mean in the second half. I mean come back from Two scores in the forth quarter.

Collins didn't just

manage games this yr. And with Vince at QB we may end up not being able to muster up 2 scores in a game let alone the 4th quarter.
