Chris Simms to Visit the Tennessee Titans
Terry McCormick is reporting that Chris Simms is expected to come to Nashville tonight and work out for the Titans tomorrow. McCormick also speculates that Simms is the frontrunner to be added to the Titans roster. One interesting note from the article is that the Chiefs worked Simms out but decided to sign Ingle Martin instead.
It is good they are giving Simms a look. He is a better option than Joey Harrington, Quinn Gray, and Doug Johnson, all of whom the Titans took a look at today.
Simms, if signed, will back up Kerry Collins while Vince Young is out with the knee injury that we are still waiting to learn how long it will sideline him.

Well, Simms was my first choice all along--ahead of I. Martin.
Who knows? This may actually work out in the long run.

And I'll tell you something else, too...
…once they get Simms on the roster and familiar with the playbook, VY is gonna have a SERIOUSLY hard time getting back on the field. Simms can actually play.

I still don't get Ingle
Don’t mind em bringing Chris in at all, but why not promote Ingle and keep 3 on the active roster when there is quarterback uncertainty afloat? Plenty of room easily made on the roster (Paul Williams, I’m looking at you), Ingle’s familar with the organization / playbook, we all saw he was decent in pre-season play, and obviously the Chiefs like him quite a lot to sign him to active roster over Chris. Unless Ingle also has some mysterious deep-seated personality problem that the Chiefs don’t know about, I’m stumped.

Simms isn't just a better choice
He’s a much much much much better choice than Harrington or Gray. Plus the man’s a gamer, he ruptured a spleen in the name of football. Give ’em a shot!!

Don't know a lot about him
Other than the injury controversy. A quick look at stats, 12 TDs for 17 INTs with 15 games started. Doesn’t look like he ever had the opportunity to start a whole season. Highest QB rating was 2005 with an 81. Joey much more games started (2 year older), never got above about a 77 rating. More INTs than TDs as well. I’ve never really watched either of them – just from the stats it looks like they’ve both struggled quite a bit.
I’m easy – I’ll cheer for whoever they put back there, just wish they’d kept a young guy (ingle) around.

Oh yeah
I definitely agree with you on the cheering. Harrington is terrible, I’m from Detroit, and always pay close attention to the Lions, so I saw 4 bad years, and he just can’t make reads or look off receivers. Simms is a pretty good player, and like I said he’s gonna do all he can to win ballgames. Joey it seems was always just happy to be losing. Look at the teams he’s played for. He wouldn’t know how to handle getting even more blame for any losses we might have, because our defense and run game won’t be blamed.

He can come in here and be THE MAN if he plays his cards right.
All he has to do is learn the playbook and work his ass off. Collins won’t be here forever, and he wasn’t great when he was a starter. Simms has a real opportunity here with a very solid cast around him. In NE, he would have had to give the job back to Brady, even if he somehow went 15-0 for the rest of the season.
Moreover, the Pats haven’t signed ANYONE and don’t seem to want to.
