Joe Horn's Agent Contacts the Tennessee Titans
Terry McCormick is reporting that the agent for Joe Horn, who was released by the Atlanta Falcons today, has contacted the Tennessee Titans. I would not be in favor of this signing. Horn has not had a healthy or productive season since 2004.
Last season I liked the signing of Eric Moulds because it gave the Titans a veteran presence at a position that was very young. This season the Titans already have veteran experience with Justin McCareins and Justin Gage. Horn would not be an upgrade over anyone that will end up making the roster.

If Horn just can catch the damned ball he could be a starter for us
and an upgrade over just about all of ‘em… McCariens is gimpy and Gage isn’t a no.1 by any stretch, so it’s not like he’s our sacred cow or anything.
I mean can we imagine what happens if 1 or 2 guys out of the Jones, Gage, McCariens mix get hurt? Mikey R. should be desperately trying to upgrade our WR core, because this team is too good to be handicapped like this.

Here we go again
I trust Titans management completely, especially after Travis Henry. But it’s irritating to see them pass so quickly at an opportunity.
I have very low expectations for Justin McCareins. The only argument I see not to take a pass at Horn is actually Roydell Williams, who could be a great receiver if he gets and stays healthy.
But regardless, is it too much to ask to bring him in for a physical? Give me a break. This offense needs all the help it can get, until proven otherwise.

Go big or go home.
Anquan Boldin wants to be traded. Yes, his agent is Drew Rosenhaus. Yes, he has a 4 year 22 million contract. But isn’t that around what we gave Givens??
It’s obvious Vince needs an exceptional reciever. We get that with Boldin. And for what?? A second round pick, which i expect would be around the 50-55th pick of the draft.
It’s about time to spend some money and take a risk, because with Anquan Boldin, our run game, and defense, I see the Titans as a top 5 team in the league.

The Titans might be looking for answers at WR, but Joe Horn is not one.
He’s not fast, and if Eric Moulds production was any indication, he wouldn’t help—at all. Horn’s agent should realize this. Horn could be effective somewhere where he could go and work out of the slot as a possession receiver. To make that work, there must be a speedy #1 on the roster to go down the field and open it up. The Titans don’t have that speedy #1, so Joe Horn becomes just another slow receiver on a team chock full of slow receivers.
You want an answer at WR? We already have him, and his name is L. Hawkins. He’s already the best WR on the roster.

The Hawk was already in my mind...
before I read your last sentence.
I wouldn’t say he is already the best WR we have. But potentially he is. He needs to gain experience by playing more minutes.
