8/1/08 Evening Practice

The first public practice under the new lights is tonight at 7:30pm at Baptist Sports Park.

I'll be there keeping an eye on Chris Davis, Chris Davis, and everyone named Williams. I should have a report posted tonight when I get home.

If you have any particular things you would like answered just leave a comment below, and I'll try to respond to it tonight.

This sentence is completely arbitrary because I haven't reached the word quota.

Hey man

I was wondering how my man David Stewart is looking, also, does Jason Jones or Antonio Johnson look like they are up for grabs to take Tony Browns #2 spot? Also, how’s Alge and Chris lookin?

Which Chris?

Sorry, but with this team you have to specify which Chris you are talking about.

As for Big Country Dave Stewart, 76, he’s looking good as is Michael Roos, 71. We are set at tackle for the next few years.

I’ve only seen Tony Brown, 97, work with the first unit defense so it doesn’t appear that Jason Jones, 91, or Antonio Johnson, 99 ,will unseat him. They are currently the two DTs in the second unit.

Alge Crumpler, 83, is looking solid, but the position battle after him is going to be intense. At tonight’s practice Jamie Petrowski, 85, really impressed. I think he may give Bo Scaife, 80, a run for his money.

If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Great

Thanks for the news—I actually meant Chris Johnson, I apologize.

Johnson is looking really good

I watched the running backs do blitz pick-up drills against the linebackers and CJ more than held his own. That’s a good thing to see not only in a rookie, but also in a guy as small as he is.

His runs were consistently impressive. I hope he may be the beneficiary of the “breather effect” whenever LenDale comes out and the opposing defense relaxes a little.

If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.
