The Minnesota Vikings are one of those trendy picks heading into the 2008 season. There is no doubt they will be able to run the ball, but I don't think they will be able to throw the ball this year at all. This could be an ugly, fast game with both teams wanting to do most of their damage on the ground.
The key for the Titans will obviously be stopping Adrian Peterson. If they hold him to under 100 yards rushing they will win the game. With big Albert clogging up the middle, that won't be that much of a problem.
This will be Vince Young's break out game of the season. The Vikings are bad against the pass, and VY will torch this secondary to help the offense put up a number somewhere in the 20s. The Titans will be 4-0 after this game.

If
If we take care of Jacksonville week 1, and Indy takes care of them week 3, then the week 8 Monday Night game vs. the Colts could be between two 6-0 teams.

That's a lot of "ifs".
This game against Minnesota is gonna be no joke. Peterson has just shredded teams before, even teams with good run defense. I don’t doubt that the Titans can win, but I don’t think for one minute that it’ll be easy.

Just saying...
It COULD happen. But this is the NFL and anything can happen. I could see a scenario where we go 6-0 in our first 6 games, but we could just as easily go 2-4. So much can happen, and it’s so hard to predict, especially these early-season games.

I don't know about 2-4, but...
...I think 6-0 is a fairy tale. I mean, I hope it happens, but I don’t know about how realistic it is.

I agree with DannoE
This is going to be alot tougher than you think. Minnesota has done alot to improve the pass D, starting with a pass rush with Jared Allen and now the best line in NFL, a good linebacker corps, and added Madieu Williams and Tyrell Johnson to help out Pro-Bowler Darren Sharper. I don’t think the Titans are going to run too well either. It should be a low scoring affair, mostly because these two teams strengths and weaknesses are almost identical.

No such thing as a shoot out -
Its obvious that they cannot defend the passing game. Last year they ranked last against the pass and only had one game where they threw for more yards than their opponent, and that was against Chicago. This game will be won in the air, and that is we have the upperhand, on both sides of the ball. Picking up Berrian will not do that much to improve their passing game, and I doubt that T. Jack has progressed that much from last year.
