Tennessee Titans Sign First Round Pick RB Chris Johnson

http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080726/SPORTS01/80726003/1027

The Titans agreed to terms with rookie running back Chris Johnson on Saturday morning.

Johnson, the team’s first-round pick (24th overall), is expected to undergo a physical today, and the Titans hope he'll be able to be on the field when the team practices at 3:30 p.m.

I was starting to get antsy.  Glad he only missed one day!

[UPDATE]--Johnson's deal is for 5 years and is estimated to be worth $12 million with $7 million in guarantees.

Yes it would have been

but not many first rounders sign 5 year deals.

If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

5 Years

is what the Tennessean is reporting. I hope that’s the case. I wanna see that dude out running the competition for a long time.

“Johnson, the team’s first-round pick (24th overall), reached a 5-year, $12 million deal with the team that includes roughly $7 million in guaranteed money. He is in Nashville, is expected to undergo a physical today, and the Titans expect him to be able to practice at 3:30 p.m today.”

No need for apologies here.

I’m just excited to have him in camp mostly on time. How bout it Jimmy, you as excited as me? I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. The anticipation is KILLING me! Can I open just one present?

Happy days are here again. My boys have started the season, the Titans have begun camp, and the Horns first game is a mere 34 days away. WOW!!!!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!

Anybody been to watch practice yet?

Because I think I’m going on Sunday. WooHoo!

The last piece is in place...

... I don’t have any doubt that we’ll go deep in the playoffs this year. The Superbowl is a definite possibility barring major injuries.

Go Titans!
