True 2008 Tennessee Titans depth chart predictions
QB- 1.)Vince Young 2.) Kerry Collins
no contest
RB- 1.) Lendale White 2.) Chris Johnson 3.) Chris Henry
carries will be split id imagine around 70-30 lendale however CJ was brought in to be a back out of the slot also to keep the defense guessing when you put a dual back set out on the field with speed in cj and power with lendale. Chris henry most likely will be a returner and will spell lendale or johnson to fatigue or injury.
FB- 1.)Ahmard Hall 2.)Casey Cramer
Hall is solid will remain starter
WR- 1.) Justin Gage 2.) Roydell Williams 3.) Lavelle Hawkins 4.) Justin McCareins 5.) Brandon Jones 6.) Biren Ealy 7.) Mike Williams
Justin Gage will probably get the nod at #1 because roydell is coming off the broken ankle and isnt 100% yet but close to it. Depending on how training camp goes likely this will be the set of reciever. 3 i put Hawkins because he has shown a lot of talent above average route running ability 4.40 speed and the ability for the big play during the O.T.A's (organized team activities). Justin McCareins will see time in the game as most recievers on the team will however hes number 4 because his career is on the downturn he needs to prove himself again. Brandon Jones slips to 5 hes under achieved his whole career thus far and doesnt show much in terms of improving he will probably make the team this year but will see a reduced roll as he did last year and most likely will be gone next year. Biren ealy is showing good stuff in ota's and will make the team probably see some time during the early regular season and possibly later if he proves himself. Mike williams will get cut yea all you believers out there the dream is up hes still overweight and slow for his position terrible route runner and average hands if that probably will make the practice squad with his drive and work ethic.
TE- 1.)Alge Crumpler 2.) Bo Scaife 3.) Craig Stevens 4.) Dwayne Blakely
Crumpler and young are showing good chemistry he will be a big part of the passing game hes a pro bowler a veteran and will easily take number 1 bo scaife will be number 2 will see lots of playing time another good target for vince stevens will play special teams and Blakely will get cut no need to have 4 tight ends on a roster
RT- 1.) David Stewart 2.) Daniel Loper
Stewart is the number 1 there is a battle here though however daniel loper will see time as he can play almost any position on the line asside from center
RG- 1.)Jake Scott 2.) Daniel Loper
no challenge what so ever
C- Kevin Mawae, Leroy Harris
mawae skilled veteran leader easily takes it he doesnt even have to show up to training camp and come weed 1 he would still start
LG- 1.) Eugene Amano 2.) Leroy Harris
Amano finally developed enough into a left guard with the retirement of benji olson and loss of bell there is a battle here though leroy harris could take the job with a good showing in preseason and training camp or a bad one buy amano
LT- 1.) Michael Roos 2.) Daniel Loper 3.) Mike Otto
Michael Roos is becoming a solid player and will be an asset to this line.
DT- 1.) Albert Haynesworth 2.) Tony Brown 3.) Kevin Vickerson 4.) Antonio Johnson
Haynseworth will get a big deal done and will be the starter on the right Brown will be the starter on the left johnson and vickersen will spell the starters and see a decent amount of time
Left DE- 1.) Jevon Kearse 2.) Bryce Fisher
no real battle here both will see time Kearse is trying to revive his career back to his 10 plus sack days in his earlier stint with the titans however his dui will not help his position on the team so believe it or not a battle is here bryce fisher could easily take this from kearse with hard work and solid play.
Right DE- 1.)Kyle Vanden Bosch 2.) Sean Conover 3.) Jason Jones
no battle here KVB is the hardest working most intense DE in the league period conover and jones will battle for number 2 i have conover at two becasue jones is a rookie however its up in the air
MLB- 1.) Ryan Fowler 2.) Stephen Tulloch
Up in the air closest battle on the Defense Fowler is the returning starter i give him the edge but tulloch is just as good also the whole steroids connection to fowler could land him in suspension which would give tulloch the job
LOLB- 1.) David Thornton 2.) Josh Stamer
Thornton gets it no contest honestly i have no idea who stamer is
ROLB- 1. Keith Bulluck 2.) Jorge Cordova
Bulluck gets it no contest Cordova is another new comer and will see special teams play not much more.
CB right- 1.) Cortland Finnegan 2.) Eric King 3.) Cary Williams
Finnegan is a diamond in the rough a player with tremendous talent and a huge upside will turn into a top corner in the league. Eric king will battle with Cary williams for the nickel and dime corner spots
CB Left- 1.) Nick Harper 2.) Reynaldo Hill 3.) Chris Carr
Harper gets the job easily he will split with Hill however also hill will come in the nickel and dime situations chriss carr will tryout in the return game.
SS- 1.) Chris Hope 2.) Calvin Lowry 3.) Donnie Nickey
Hope will start but who knows how he will recover from his near career ending back injury last season
FS- 1.)Michael Griffin 2.) Vincent Fuller
Could be a battle here most likely i give it to Griffin as he will become a complete hard hitting safety in the league later on in his career fuller played well last season and probably will see a good amount of time this season
K- 1.) Rob Bironas
we only got one to choose from and hes a good one
P- 2.) Craig Hentrich
still our punter and still solid

A few disagreements:
WR: Heimerdinger is not Chow. Repeated inconsistency = the opportunity to work elsewhere.
1.) Justin Gage
2.) Justin McCareins
3.) Lavelle Hawkins
4.) Biren Ealy
5.) Roydell Williams
6.) A player not named M. Williams or B. Jones.
DT: I’d think A. Johnson is ahead of Vickerson. In fact, I’d put J. Jones on this list… also aheadof Vickerson.
DE: You don’t have William Hayes listed. Pencil him into B. Jones spot and keep 6 WRs instead of seven.
OLB: You don’t have Stanford Keglar listed. He’s a good shot to be on Special Teams most of this year, but he’s not going anywhere and will likely start eventually.
CB/S: Shift Fuller to the nickel and put Hill back on the bench! Slide C. Lowry to back-up both Safety positions. Ditto for the CBs. Eric King is looking like your #3 outside CB—on either side.
That may not total to 53, but the balance can come from LBs and CBs, which are high-demand/core special teamers. Look for those from UFAs.

Also
You don’t have Ken Amato listed.
He’s a backup LB, but more importantly he’s our long snapper. He’ll be on the roster in September.
If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Not bad
But there is no competition between Griffin and Fuller for starting FS.

That was the biggest error in my mind as well.
Yes I am Texas biased, but Griffin could start for most teams in the league.
Also, It looks like Jason Jones will get some time at DT

the only way there'd be a competition is if Griffin was getting moved back to CB
and that ain’t happening. period.

yes
I do agree with you that most likely he will be the starter all im saying is that he is young its his second season and your just never guaranteed a starting job your second season unless you prove your self above and beyond griffin did solid last year but not enough to say that he has that starting spot locked up

yea
I didnt put everyone that is one the training camp roster into depth chart consideration just the main guys in competiton or who could possibly see the field im sure nobody cares about guys like jason rivers and chris davis at the reciever spots or something

Looks mostly right, but I'm hoping for:
Stanford Keglar > Cordova
Antonio Johnson > Tony Brown
Paul Williams on the active roster > Casey Cramer (practice squad him).
and a vet we pick up in camp > Amano (just never been sold on the guy…)

I disagree about Amano
He did fine filling in for K-wae last year when he went down; he’ll have the starting LG spot for sure.

umm
keglar or cordova ha really doesnt matter bulluck and thornton aretn coming out of the game ha so they can fight all they want for second string. besides haynesworth the d ends will be in rotation
paul williams wiill get practice squad if not cut hes done nothing while hes been here cramer will make the active roster he does so much on special teams hes one of our best i agree ive never liked amano that position should have been adressed in the draft i and i think we will make a free agent pick up to create competition for him our line took big losses this offseason we need to do something about it

"paul williams wiill get practice squad if not cut hes done nothing while hes been here"
He’s only had one year and zero snaps, and he was too much of a talent before the draft not to get a crack… who knows what happened with the WR position last year under Chow.
I’d like to see Paul get a shot more than M. Williams – who’s had multiple years and produced slightly above squat – or a backup FB/5th TE.
Thankfully with ‘Dinger in town, he’s got to earn it; no doubt about that.
[i meant to post it here… ignore the duplicate below me… nothing to see there]

ha
Paul williams hasnt gotten the chance to do squat because obviously the coaches think he doesnt work hard enough or show enough to deserve one. if you really think about it technically every player gets 4 shots in preseason to atleast show something i mean he hasnt been injured because he would have been on injured reserve the rest comes in practice so he must not be working hard enough or proving anything to the coaches on the practice field and if he doesnt show up atleast once in preseason id say cut him or atleast get him off the active roster. that 2005 draft class of recievers was an absolute joke they should all be cut besides like roydell williams. Chris davis gone Brandon Jones gone or practice squad Courtney roby is already gone and now paul williams should go to

"if he doesnt show up atleast once in preseason id say cut him or atleast get him off the active roster"
Obviously, but we’re not at that point yet. Davis, Roby and B. Jones had opportunities and blew them… Paul hasn’t and you don’t take a guy in the 3rd and not even suit him up, IMO.

From Wyatt's Friday Practice notes:
Paul Williams made a pair of great catches, one in the end zone when he took the ball away from a defender. Later, he caught a touchdown pass from Kerry Collins. No doubt the guy is talented.
That’s what I’m talking about, right there… the kid deserves a shout in preseason.
