This pick fills a need for the Ravens. They have not had good QB play since Dilfer(who despite leading them to a SB victory was usually only serviceable). Steve McNair, as great as he was for the Oilers/Titans franchise, is done and probably was done the year he left the Titans. Boller has not and will not get the job done as a starter, and Troy Smith is unlikely to ever be a starter in the NFL. Although the Ravens are an old team and need players at several positions, one of the best places to start rebuilding is the QB. Look for Ryan to come in as the third string with a chance to play late in the season once the Ravens are eliminated from the playoffs again.
