The CB/FS situation
Does anyone know what's going on with the Titans secondary? DeAngelo Hall is out there to be had for the right price. He seems like a fantastic player who is fed up with being in a terrible organization. He's young, he's talented, and he returns punts. Could he be had for a 2nd, a 5th, and the rights to Mr. Jones?
Also, what's going on with Griffin? Is he staying at FS? If so, pursuing a guy like Hall makes tons of sense; but, if they plan on still moving him to CB, then it explains the pursuit of Patriots Safety Eugene Wilson. I don't know why they would feel hellbent on moving Griffin if they have another option at CB, but...
At the end of the day, Harper isn't a long term answer. We MIGHT be able to squeak another year out of him, but he is getting older and slower by the moment. The only other option out there might be Ty Law who is also slower than he used to be, but is good enough to make up for it. The problem is that he is only a one year fix as well.
I guess we'll see how it all works out at training camp. Regardless, Griffin is a wonderful player and a great draft pick, Chris Hope is fantastic, and Finnegan has the potential to be a long-term fixture, but probably not the guy you want to matchup on super-stud receivers (especially if they are tall receivers).
