Can We PLEASE Spend Some Money?

I ask this question becuse we were the only team in the TOP 12 to make the playoffs - we've got the money, lets go get some freaking play makers, and sign Fat Al to a Fat contract -

We can afford to shell out a retarded contract for one Prime Time Player -

Defensive Ends
I am actually more concerned about Odom and LaBoy. I think we need to keep at least one of them.

This article from The Tennessean is making me very afraid:

The problem is...
...that you'd much rather have Odom, and given the way that Franchise Tags have gone this year, he is in reality one of the top DE FA's in the entire League.

Spending Money
There is absolutely no reason not to spend most of the money the team has.

Look at last year...  We could have had Keyshawn Johnson instead of Eric Moulds, for example.  The only difference was money, but I am pretty sure that Keyshawn would have played better.

The Titans have the opportunity to give themselves a major boost in the offseason by spending this year.

If they go into the season with 20+ million in cap space left they will have proven that they would rather make 20 million dollars in profit owning a team that wins 11 games only to lay an egg in the playoffs, then spend up to the cap to make a run for it.

My fingers are crossed.  We need a stud running back, a stud wideout, and a stud tight-end.  With that, we'll be able to start scoring some points, and Vince will be able to progress.

I don't think the team is in any danger...
... of a "misers of the Midway" type mentality.  The Titans have proven their willingness to spend money to retain players in the not-too-distant past.  But with the salary cap purge and the still-fresh memory of David Givens on their minds, I can understand the Front Office's reluctance to break the bank on any one guy.

Given their injury history, I think it's likely that whatever teams ultimately sign LaBoy and Odom, those teams are gonna over-pay.

Just wait.  They may well sign Alge Crumpler.  That'd be a decent start.

I agree
that we should spend some of our cap money but we need to spend it wisely. It seems like a good idea now to shell out alot of money on one player but thats not how you build a solid championship team. Compare the 49ers last season with their big signings and how to patriots have become a dynasty. The patriots never really over paid for their players, most of it was through the draft. I like Reiny (our GM) and i believe we shouldn't be foolish with our money and contiue to build mostly through the draft. Sign Alge tho!!!!!!
