That's cool
I'll more than likely apply there in a few months, when that time comes (I'm a junior now) I guess that's my occupation for the time being.

Thanks
Is it alright with you if I e-mail you questions I have periodically as they come up? You'd probably be able to answer admissions/scholarship questions as well as anyone.

Great topic.
I'm a utilities analyst in NYC.  I work mostly to evaluate the potential impacts of various generation and transmission projects and/or proposed environmental regulations, etc in New York State.

I'm also a freelance writer.  I've written four graphic novels and a prose novel, and I write a weekly comics review column (Friday Mad Science--new one up today!) for Paperbackreader.com.

BTW, if anybody out there feels like test-reading my book, I'd love to have some new opinions on it.  Fresh opinions earn my undying admiration, trust me.  Good test readers are VERY hard to find.

It's a kind of a Historical Fantasy.
Sort of a Conan-meets-15th century China kind of thing.  It's loosely based on the early years of the Chinese Opium Wars against the British Empire.

Who am I?
This line you can not cross for I am the man in green.

I am the basher of hope and the defender of dreams.

To some I am an evil doer to others I am a saint.

Some want me to do more and some want less.

Somtimes (just recently in fact)on my shiny gold heart I wear a shroud.

My knights armor is unique and to wear it makes me proud.

It's the same color as my four-leaf clover.

Gloom of night nor deathly heat stay me from my favorite game "Red Rover".

My bossman, however tells me NOT to let them come over.

Who am I?

Man if we can ever....
....get people from Nashville reading this blog it will explode.

No kidding
I'm amazed that there are so few people actually in Nashville that read the blog.

Strange.

But if we lived in Nashville...
...we wouldn't have to go to extreme lengths to get Titans news.  We could just watch it on TV like regular people.

Shoot
Jimmy does a much better job getting us Titan news than the Nashville media!

Seriously J, have you ever thought about getting press credentials to training camp?

I have tried....
....but have not been successful.  Some of the people in our network have made contact with someone in the NFL front office.  They are going to try to work him to get us some more access.  I will let you know what happens.

With the garbage
that they allow into the Super Bowl Media days, then they should allow a reputable journalist such as yourself to at least have inside access to training camp.  I could understand if not every game of the season, but c'mon.

If you guys all lived in Nashville...
you would probably be UT fans and act like idiots... then this sight would suck!

Seriously, I live about half a mile from LP Field, and I wasn't suprised at all how many of the regulars on here don't live by the Cumberland.

UT FANS????
There are probably a few UT fans on this blog, but the "T" is "Texas."

Actually, my parents live near the stadium, too, and I grew up there, and I find far more Vandy fans in the area than UT.

I'm here, Huckleberry.
Sorry for the comment title, just watch "Tombstone" with Kurt Russell again this morning.

Anyway, you've got at least 1 Nashville peep, Jimmy.  I'm living in Murfreesboro until August, but that's just temporary.

My parents live less than 2 miles from the stadium, close enough that Dad and I have walked to games.

Just a little movie knowledge dropping here
The line is actually, "I'm your Huckleberry".

And that is a great movie.

Really?
Wow; I've misheard it every time. And I've seen it several times.

by hartley on Feb 26, 2008 4:36 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

In all seriousness
this has to be the most mature group of people on a blog I've ever seen.  Usually there at least a couple of young punks hanging around making ruckus, or just some ridiculously ignorant fools running there mouths.

This is why I really enjoy this site! And as much as I know everyone would like to see it grow, I really like the people that we have here, and I think it kind of keeps it from turning into "just another blog" with all the BS.

by Big Bad Bulluck on Feb 22, 2008 1:10 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I totally agree...
I enjoy reading the posts here at MCM. I like reading everybody's insights on the team and I've learned a lot of things about football.

This site really feels like a community. Very little negativity. It feels like a bunch of friends talking about football during lunch break or something.

Go Titans!

Creative Director/Copywriter...
for a small marketing firm in the Nashville area.

I love this site, guys... definately nice to talk Titans with passionate fans who don't resort to name calling, excessive-cynicism, etc (except when it's Hoge, but he deserves it).

Many Things.
I've had a more varied work history than anyone I know, and I'm only 27.

Right now I'm back in college for the 5th time.  I will graduate in August from MTSU with a bachelor's degree in business administration to go with my two associates' degrees.

While I take classes, I also work part-time as a dispatcher/fleet manager for a small trucking company and also as an administrative assistant for my uncle's insurance agency.

In the past, I have worked for the IRS, the US Census Bureau, the TN Dept of Human Services, the TN Dept of Transportation, I have sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door, I have worked as a telemarketer, I have delivered pizza, I was a manager for a thrift store, and I have valet-parked cars.

by hartley on Feb 23, 2008 3:23 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

By the time
I was 27 I'd had mad jobs also. Bagged some groceries/pushed some carts, Manager of a sneaker store, just a salesman at another, did epoxy flooring for a time, laid foundations(neither of those are any fun), worked at a Bagel shop, worked at a deodorant plant(not much fun either), cooked for a while, did some carpentry for a time, waited some tables here and there, formed block for a construction company, supervisor for a company that worked for banks on foreclosed houses, thought about sellin vacuums door to door(didn't like the idea).

Jacks of all trades! Takes a while to figure out what you want to do in life sometimes.
