Our Image....
The more I see and read, the more it seems that the Titans have a pretty poor image. After the Texans game, I heard of some Houston fans saying how classless the players were in defeat. Then there was obviously the terrible towel situation with Pittsburgh, and now Carolina's RB's going nuts over Lendale White.
How are the Titans viewed by the average NFL fans? I know Colts and Texan fans have a general dislike which is understandable. But what about everyone else? Does the average fan think of us as "thugs" or "punks"? Are we hated like a lot of teams hate the Patriots? Does the average fan want us to lose? How much (if any) does Adam Jones have to do with our image. Is the negativity because we are good?
It's a slow week and I have been thinking about this stuff a little, I just I would get all of your thoughts.

I worry a bit about the attitude of the team.
And I hated the thing from Chris Johnson about the Rookie of the Year award. He’s a great RB, but he might also be a bit of a self-centered punk.
It’s all a long way from the McNair/George days, that’s for sure.

CJ
When I made this thread, I didn’t even know about his whining about the ROY award. Come on, don’t sell yourself short by whining about an award. You are better than that. All CJ did is set himself up to be criticized by everyone and that is what he is getting.
I don’t know, I just hate when players on my team are looked at as negative…unfortunately we are inflicting some of these wounds upon ourselves. I agree DannoE, it’s a long way from McNair/George days.

Organization vs Players
I think that the Titans organization (owners, front office, & coaches) has a lot of respect around the league.
Most players seem to love to play here and opposing GMs and coaches seem to really respect our coaching staff.
I think most NFL people expect the coaches to be classy and the players to be players.
I think it’s tough to ask a player to destroy a guy one minute and then respect them the next. Some players can do it, but I would bet more than you think have trouble with the political side. If all NFL players spoke their mind and were honest I bet we’d see how common the disrespect is.
As far as CJ goes, I’d prefer he not say it to the media, but I don’t mind him thinking it. Confidence is a big deal for these guys. I’d rather him be overconfident and cocky than looking down on himself because he didn’t win an award. I wish VY were that confident all the time. Not to mention the fact that I kinda agree with him about the voting. I don’t think writers should have anything to do with it.

When did he whine about it?
I remember him saying that he was going to win it, but that was early in the season.
There is a big difference there.

He was quoted with a pretty bad statement to the media earlier this week.
There was an article about it on the Tennessean if you’re truly curious, but I don’t have the link handy.

meh
people always find something to complain about, and ‘classless’ is most over-used description in the league right now. I mean every team that doesn’t put on comma-inducing media sessions (Colts, Pats and other teams who are terrified of showing some personality) has a guy or two who talk a little to much to the media but you can’t tell me Hope, Bulluck, KVB, Thorton, Harper, the entire o-line, Kerry, Griff, Bo etc. aren’t ‘classy’.
I’d say most people are more ambivalent about us than anything else.

I agree
You will notice that anyone who mentions “class” and crap like that all have an agenda.

Pacman or Adam or whatever the hell he's calling himself
does have a minor affect on this. I’ll always picture that douche in Titans Blue
Let's go Colts!

true but
i think that the titans willing to cut ties with idiots like that shows alot about this organization. some teams (cowboys, raiders, bengals…) overlook that stuff all the time.

Do you really think they let him go because of his personality or the fact that Pacman wouldn’t be on the field too much longer because he’s retarded? Something tells me that if the Titans organization knew Pacman could get away with all of the dumb stuff he was doing, he’d still be there.
