Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

COY, VY and others

Hi Guys! The site is pretty slow... understandably because of the holidays. Anyways, I can't sleep so I decided to put some of my thoughts on the Titans as of the moment.

1. Coach of the Year

I saw this article on ESPN and I was thinking, am I being a homer if I say that Fisher should be the Coach of the Year? We got the best record and, although I felt that we would have a better year than last year at the start of the season, we surprised a lot of "experts" by topping the division. Maybe the "strength of schedule" will affect Fisher's chances.

Some are saying the award should go to the Falcon's or Miami's head coach whoever they are because of the huge turnaround from last year's performance. That's silly I think because both underperformed last year and now because they are playing to their potential we should award their coach? How about Fisher who improved an already good team and have the best record in the league and best scoring defense when most people are saying we will be last in our division. No, I don't think i'm being a homer.

2. VY over Collins Strategy (Johnson over Carr on PR)

I don't know about you guys but I love playing Madden online. Of course, I always pick the Titans and then select "Run n Gun" as my offensive playbook. Then as the game starts, I change my Depth Chart, put VY ahead of Collins and also, Johnson over Carr on PR.

Why? Because when my opponent plays Man defense on me and all my receivers are covered, I can always rely on VY's legs to get the first down. A lot of my opponents usually quits out of frustration because of this.

I know it is just a video game but it's not far from reality right? How many times have we seen this in past? Im not saying we should replace Collins this year. I think we can reach the Superbowl with him. I am just saying I think we will be a better team next year with VY in there (provided he's ready mentally). I think VY will provide us a glimpse of that on Sunday against the Colts.

3. Other thoughts..

a. If Jim Schwartz leaves us, should we take Greg Williams? He sucked with Jags this year.
b. Playing the Colts or Ravens in the playoffs concerns me more than playing Pittsburgh. Between the Colts and the Ravens, I'd rather play the Colts. Number 52 scares me. I'm hoping they don't get in the playoffs.
c. What are the chances of CJ winning ROY? Probably nil. Matt Ryan will take it.
d. Should we take Tebow in the draft as a FB/RB/Backup QB?
e. If we don't sign Big Al next year I think we will be alright but it would be a very big disappointment for every Titans fan because we all want him to be back next year. And since when did we have the best player in his position in our team?

Enough thoughts for the day. Happy Holidays everyone!

forget about tebow....

he’d be a waste of a first round pick. this is a really deep draft for qb’s and i feel this is a great opportunity to take one. you can’t always draft for need – we didn’t need a running back coming into last year’s draft but it was the deepest position. do you think any rookie wide receiver in the nfl this year would have contributed to the offence as much as crazy legs has? KC is at the tail end of his career and his play this year, while sufficient, has been average. there’s too many question marks with vince. i’m not saying cut him or anything crazy like that, but whats wrong with a little competition?

as for fat albert, he’s as good as gone….. i’m just glad we were able to win a big game without him…

tebow in the 3rd round?

would he even fall that low?

i'm just not seeing tebow being a good nfl quarterback....

and there’s no way he’s slipping down to the 3rd round. i really like graham herrel, colt mccoy and chase daniel and i could see one of these guys slipping to the second round.

any thoughts out there on wide recievers coming up?

i also think pat white could be an interesting pick...

like an antwan randle el. this guy can run, play reciever and throw. and you could grab him in the later rounds…

I agree

with you on all except the Colts being scary in the playoffs. Sure their better then the time we played them back on Monday. But They have no running game at all, we have a beast of a secondary, and I doubt Dallas Clark will have another game like he did against us.

If Jim leaves us, that will be a huge blow , but I think Gregg Wiliams would be a great fit again.

The Colts are scary in the playoffs because, more than any other team, they have been there so many times.

And they have a history of turning it on in the playoffs.

As for the draft, picking a QB or not depends to me on what happens in the Offseason. If they let VY walk, then they ought to think about taking a QB in the late rounds. KC could get hurt any time, Simms already has an injury history, and so you want to be ready for that. However, if they let KC walk, I’d say that they can find a decent 3rd stringer off the street (for the practice squad) and leave it at that. Because VY is not particularly injury-prone, and Simms is a fine back-up.

If for whatever reason they keep all three, it would be insane to add yet another QB.

BTW, I'm betting DT in the first round all the way next year.

And I think I’m okay with that. Finally signing Big Al to that monster long-term deal is a risky proposition, and he’s still somewhat injury-prone. Plus, he’s not getting any younger, and it’s a young man’s league.

yeah

i think contract length is likely to be the big stumbling block with albert as opposed to value.
