shame on you titans "fans"
i know hind sight is 20/20, but SHAME ON YOU non-believers on this site who thought we were doomed to lose this game simply because we were missing two defensive lineman. this team has shown alot of heart all year long, and to write us off at home against anyone in this league is absolutely ridiculous. i think everyone knows now what we've known all year long - this team is for real.

thanks for this post
i was shaking my head with all the negativity going around since last Sunday. hope this win gives more faith to the fans.
Go Titans!
it was quite a statement game
while I think it was completely reasonable to think we would lose against the titans, whether you are a titan fanatic or an objective tv pundit…..
i’m ecstatic my fears were for naught…
i’m never too proud to eat crow….
even better was going to a bar and cheering for the titans while the bar was filled with steeler fans….that was some satisfying stuff….
good win….major props to the dline…..and the oline…..and gage….and griffin……
i hope we are the underdog in the 2nd round of hte playoffs b/c we clearly play better when the world doubts the team…..
again, i don’t think it is unreasonable to be realistic about your favorite team and think they will lose a game to a great team without 2 defensive stars and one in which everyone else thinks will be a titans loss too……
i don’t think that desrves shame…..the definition of a true fan doesn’t mean thinking they will win everytime….being real about the chance of a loss is fine……
it’s not like I was cheering for them to lose….
again, i just about got beat up at reliant stadium last week during the texans game….
but I will eat the biggest bowl of crow for thinking they would lose to pitt…..glad to
correction
meant to say, reasonable to think we would lose against the steelers…..not titans….hahaha
just because im not a blind homer doesn't make me a "fan", so you take your "quotes" and shove 'em.
i always try and be as objective as possible, especially with teams i support. the objective evidence said we were headed for trouble. being wrong never felt so good. if anybody wants to take credit for predicting jason jones would have 3.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles, and that KFC would go over 100 in QB rating, i’ll shake your hand and call you an oracle.
definitely showed a hell of a lot of heart out there today. this goes down as one of the best titans games i have ever been too, and i have had season tickets since day one. there were way too many steelers fans there, but it was great to send them away crying. major props to fisher in the boys for stepping up and playing great football when some many people thought they were toast.

i gotta agree here.....i don't think the diary author has the right definition of "fan"
the definition of “fan” isn’t who always predicts a win….
the definition of “fan” is closer to who you always cheer for….
i always cheer for the titans….it almost got me beat up at reliant last week…..it didn’t make me any friends at the steeler bar today….
example….
i am a huge memphis grizzlies fan….i help write a grizzlies blog (3 shades of blue)…..i always cheer for my griz…..but I don’t think they will win every game…..going into each game i’ll be objective about their chance to win…..that doesn’t discount me being a “fan”…..
again, i’ll eat crow, b/c I didn’t think the titans would play this good….the dline impressed me…..the oline continued to impress….collins played well…..
it was a great win and made me feel alot better after playing bad against the jets and texans….
ok, maybe i'm a bit harsh...
player of the game is michael griffin. the two picks, and downing the punt in the 5. he’s made leaps and bounds since his rookie year. our secondary is carrying this defense. alot of those sacks today were coverage sacks….

I don't think you were a bit harsh
I think you were right on the money.
Some people just plain freaked out. We lost a game we should’ve lost and some fans came unglued.
I think they should just admit that they should’ve had more faith in their team.
Also, what is an objective fan? Isn’t a fan by definition subjective?
you really beleive
that a fan of a team should never think their team is going to lose?
really?
what other sports do you follow?
I’m a huge nba fan and it would be impossible to think my favorite nba team (the grizzlies) will win all their game….impossible…..
how in the world is it unreasonable to think we might have lost this game? not having our best player….playing a great defense…..our offense sputtering….
with that said, i’m humbled by our tough and gritty win…..it was a statement…..i’m gladly eating crow….
but i think saying i’m not a “fan” is insulting……i was in reliant last week, decked out in baby blue, sitting right above the titans locker room entrance, cheering my ass off…..
i was at a steeler bar today cheering my team…..
i think what your saying is ridiculous
Dude I'm not saying never
There are times when you should think your team is going to lose
But is that when your team is 12-2? To me that’s not even logical.
The Steelers are a good team, but they were also over hyped.
They past few games they got dominated for 3 quarters.
I am not saying you’re not a fan. I am saying that you freaked out without just cause.
Not just you tho. This past week it’s been nothing but negativity around here.
If it was 2006 or 2007 I can understand it, but when we beat the Ravens earlier this year I saw that this is not the same Titans team that loses the big games.
i'm not trying to insult anyone
and i apologize if i offended anybody. but the posts this last week were ridiculous. so many titans fans were writing us off. we don’t need steeler fans coming on to our website and telling us to have pride. that pissed me off.
i know fat albert was hurt coming into this one and cocktail collins threw awfully against the texans (who i predicted might beat us), but if you have watched the steelers the past 3 weeks their offensive line had been awful in pass protection and fast willie parker hasn’t been so fast lately….

Not exactly a prediction but...
I did say:
"It’s a mix
between our defensive line and Kerry Collins.
If our replacements can put their QB in the dirt and Kerry Collins can remember how to throw accurate passes then we’ll be in good shape.

yeah, and it was totally logical
to think kerry collins would snap out of it against one of the defenses of the last 10 years. right. also 100% level headed to think an unproven rookie would have a game that rivals any single game of albert’s career. right.

I wasn't 100% certain it was going to happen
But I knew there was a chance. I knew Kerry had he ability. And I knew our backups had the ability because they’ve shown it in flashes all season.
The rest was faith, which I have in my team and our coaching staff.
I can’t be too illogical considering it’s what happened.
I will have the biggest shame on Titans fans tomorrow
Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles even though gramsey hates it.
it better be
cuz i have never seen more visitors in our house before, even when the cowboys came. it was disgraceful

It's gotta be that. It really looked like Heinz Field in there.
But it was fun to wave goodbye to em as they were leaving with time left on the clock.
And I called a Titan loss before kickoff. So I am happy to say:
I WAS FREAKING WRONG. WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.
And I left my voice at LP Field today.
Now accepting applications for the Michael Griffin Man Crush Club at Music City Miracles!
i had a feeling that the titans were gonna win
I had no dowt that we were ganna win.ther were a couple of things that made me sure.
Titans titans had a head full of steam after the loss wich got them pumped up.
titans are agressive.</
Titans got heart.
GET'R DONE
back to my post after the jets game
i said i would only have faith if this team had decisively beaten the steelers (and i can get a direct quote of that) and they did i officialy see jeff fisher raising the lombardi trophy this year
All Day Every Day
Yes, I was wrong.
I was the “Voice of Gloom and Doom.” I don’t know that I am a bad fan, but I didn’t think for one instant that the Titans would be able to put together enough Offense to win the game. I mean, come on, that Offense had been only a little better than DREADFUL for the past month.
But look, bad fans bail in that situation. No one here bailed. We all listened to every minute of the pregame, watched every snap of the game itself. We cheered our asses off. We didn’t abandon the team because we thought they were going to lose. We were still fans, and good ones, even in the face of adveresity.
That said, I still maintain that faith in the absence of production and accountability is no better than blind homerism.
So I was wrong, and I can live with it. In fact, I’m ecstatic about it. But at least I was here to see every minute of just how wrong I was.

Go Titans!
Look, if the post here had any merit, you'd have Lions fans either abandoning the team or believing that the Lions were gonna win every game.
And no. That’s not fandom. Fandom is sticking around and cheering your butt off, even when things aren’t going your way. Being a good fan is being faithful in the face of adversity.

Yeah, I was wrong.
But it wasn’t just missing 3 (not 2 – Vickerson is also out) D-Lineman.
It was also that Collins and our wRs had not been playing well.
Add all of that together, and I was prepared for the worst. I’m not going to apologize for thinking it, either – we played like CRAP last week.
I am, however, not at all sad about being proven wrong. :)
