TFIKnox's Predictions for the Rest of the Regular Season+Playoffs
Hello, devoted devotees of musiccitymiracles. I am here to provide you with my brief game summary and score predictions for the rest of the Titans' season. Side note, I really like this site, and I plan to become much more active commenting and posting on it.
***DISCLAIMER***
I am not Nostradamus, and I don't pretend to be.
***DISCLAIMER #2***
I am not a homer. I try to be as little as a homer as I can be. My predictions are what I really believe will happen.
WEEK 11-Titans @ Jaguars
I see the Titans winning this one in a struggle. The Jags have a decent run D, but their pass D doesn't scare me. I see Smash and Dash racking up about 75 yds. combined in this one, with Kerry throwing for about 200. The Jags will have trouble moving the ball, resulting in a:
13-10 Titan Win, 10-0
WEEK 12-Titans v. Jets
Wow, I really think that the Titans' secondary will eat Brett Favre's passes alive....Brett the Jet leads the NFL in all time interceptions, and I see Finney, Mike Griffin, and Hope all snagging a pick in a:
24-17 Titan Win, 11-0
WEEK 13-Titans @ Lions
Do I really even need to say much about this one? The Lions haven't won yet, and they are awful on both sides of the ball. The Lions can't run the ball, pass the ball, stop the run, or stop the pass. I'm smelling a huge game for Smash and Dash on Turkey day in a:
34-6 Titan Win, 12-0
WEEK 14-Titans v. Browns (TFIKnox will be there!)
For some reason, I am seeing a huge struggle in this one. The Browns look good on paper, but it hasn't translated into a very good season so far for them this year. However, I think that they have the offensive potential to surprise a lot of people, including the Titan's defense....however, they are the Browns.
17-16 Titan Win, 13-0
WEEK 15-Titans @ Texans
I wholeheartedly believe that a team that Vince Young plays on will never lose to the Texans. The Flaming Thumbtacks should rack up quite up a few rushing yards against the Texans' porous D (except for Mario Williams, that is)
24-14 Titan Win, 14-0
WEEK 16-Titans v. Steelers
Don't throw me into the darkest corner in MCM and stone me for this, but I believe that this game will end Tennessee's perfect season. The Steelers are just so good on the defensive side of the ball that I see a Week 10-like rushing performance vs. the Steelers. I think the Titans will have a helluva time moving the ball in a:
17-13 Steeler Win, 14-1
WEEK 17-Titans @ Colts
Hmm....I think that both the Titans and the Colts will be comfortably in the playoffs at this point, thus both teams will throw out a lot of second stringers in this one. As weird as it seems, I am actually going to say that the Titans will sweep the Colts this year in a:
9-6 Titan Win (Baseball Score!), 15-1
PLAYOFFS!!!!!
(not going to go into detail, considering the playoffs are a LONG way off.)
Round One-Bye
Round Two-Win v. New England, 20-19
Round Three- Win v. Pittsburgh, 14-13
Super Bowl- Win v. (shocker!) Arizona, 28-24
Now let's hope this all comes true!

No way the Colts
are comfortably in the playoffs by week 17. They’ll probably need to go 6-0 over their next 6 for that to happen.

Not that I wouldn't love to see it, but...
I just cannot imagine the Cards winning out in the playoffs. I could see it if they had home-field the rest of the way, but since they will probably have to play in the Meadowlands in order to make it happen, I just cannot believe. It would be as awesome as all get-out, but I just don’t think it’ll happen. Only way I see it happening is if somebody like Dallas or Washington sneaks into NY and steals one and then goes to AZ and loses. And I don’t believe in that possibility even for a minute.

Can't see it either
I like the cards, but I can’t see it happening.
When they lost to the Jets in early October by a 56 to 25 score, greg estabrook had a picture of warner looking dejectedly at the field captioned:
“I threw for 472 yards and my team got clobbered. I must play for the Arizona Cardinals.”

About the Colts
The AFC has too much parity this yr….the Colts have a pretty easy road the rest of the way.
I think they’ll have a spot locked up

How?
Given that the Colts are currently outside looking in on the WC race, what’s your scenario to explain your prediction?

Now way in hell do the Colts make the playoffs at this point
They basically have to either go undefeated or at the very least 6-1 to even have a shot at the wild card.
If they do I’ll be the first to congratulate them and admit i was wrong but it is highly unlikely at this point. Out of San Diego and Jacksonville on their remaining schedule I see at least one loss which would put them on the outside looking in if the Titans beat them in December.

you guys are really selling the colts chances short
if they beat houston this week, which the are certainly favored to do, they will move to 6-4, which will at worst put them tied for the 6th seed. in fact, there could be 5 or 6 teams tied for the 5th seed at 6-4 depending on sunday’s results. they hold wild card head to head tie breakers with new england, and both pitt and baltimore. and it has to be said again, the colts won’t play a winning team until week 17 barring a major turnaround from jacksonville, who they play in week 16.
people, i know we love to hate the colts, but lets be reasonable. they have played baltimore, pitt, ne, and tennessee and come out 3-1 in those games. sure they will have to take care of business, but there isn’t a single game on their schedule they won’t be favored in until they play us again. more than likely they won’t be on the outside looking in after this week, and if so, they will have nothing but winnable games until week 17. id say i like those chances if i like any chances.

Winnable... yes
They can make the playoffs, and they are helped by the head-to-head tiebreakers, but they are still not as good as their record indicates.
The Colts are given credit for beating NE, Pitt, and Baltimore. Of those three supposedly impressive wins, I think only one of them was the real deal. The Baltimore win was impressive. Colts got very lucky in Pittsburgh while the Steelers beat themselves, and the Patriots are an average team that holds Wins against the Chiefs, Jets, Broncos, Rams, and Bills.
So, if the Colts end up tied with one of those three teams for WC positioning at 10 games, they will probably get in. The Colts have to go 4-2 over their next 6 games in order to be in a position to play for a WC spot against us.
Despite the fact that their remaining schedule is not very tough, this incarnation of the Colts will lose two or more of their next 6. What people have done here is misinterpreted their little 2-game win streak here as a sign that the old powerhouse Colts are back. I have watched every single Colts game this season, and I can assure you… they’re not.
If I am proven wrong, I will eat my words, but so far, I have been bang on with my predictions that I made at the beginning of the season – http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/2008/9/17/616549/this-is-the-year-the-colts
Once we hit the 12 game mark, I’ll revisit the Colts predictions again and see how they stack up.

Don't take the Jets too lightly.
They’re 7-3, and they score more points per game than anyone in the AFC. They aren’t the kind of flashy offense that the Giants or Cardinals are, but they seem to get the job done. They also defend the run quite well. I think this is another game where Collins has to win it for us.
