Wildcat Anyone?
This may have been brought up already. (If so I apologize)
In watching Anquan Boldin take a few snaps in the Monday Night game, I started thinking. Would it be a bad idea to put Dash back in the shotgun position with Smash beside him? It would be a great way to get them both on the field at the same time which has not happened much this year. I know when you're undefeated you want to stick with what works. But we've all seen how successful Ronnie Brown has been and CJ is definitely more dangerous than him. Maybe just throw in a couple of run/counter option plays like Norm used to do with Vince. Just a thought.

PK (at least I think it was him) keeps reporting that they've been working the Wildcat into practice.
I would imagine that it’s for an “emergency”. I think that if you see it at all it will be in the playoffs or the Super Bowl. There’s no point now. It would be a waste to try it anytime soon.

I heard a good quote yesterday
“If I can beat you with page one of the playbook why would I change to page two?”
Made a lot of sense.
I’m sure those plays exist but until we start to struggle why bring them out.
The PAIN TRAIN is comin baby!

There are some advantages to be gained from bringing it out
Titans are very predictable currently; you start throwing some flea flickers and trick plays in there, you increase the complexity of the offense and force later opponents to prepare for the possibility of the wildcat, time better spent preparing for our conventional ground attack.
We wouldnt need to use it often, but if you want to be competent at it, you probably need some live game experience. Best not to use playoffs as a testing ground.

i agree...
When we’ve clinched our division and hopefully home field advantage, we should implement different formations such as the wildcat. the playoffs is not the time to experiment. we might be in the unique position to have 2 or 3 games that we don’t need to win. it doesn’t matter if other teams see it – miami has been using it all year and the only team to stop it is baltimore. we’re 9 – 0 because of our defense, not because our offense has been particularly effective. trickery and tom foolery (not to mention shoddy officiating) propelled the steelers to victory in the superbowl XL. there’s no reason why it can’t for us. i think coach fisher is smart enough to figure it out at any rate….

I think practice is the time to experiment.
I don’t think you run any trick plays in any game if you haven’t perfected them in practice first. Knowing Jeff Fisher I am pretty sure that’s his philosophy as well. You never saw any “practice” Music City Miracles during games. I see what you’re saying, but you can’t underestimate what the element of surprise can do to an opposing defense.

Fisher has hinted a couple of times
that they are working on some of those things. They just haven’t needed to show them yet. Don’t be surprised to see that stuff in the playoffs. Also, we haven’t seen a fake punt this season, which is usually a Fisher specialty.
Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles even though gramsey hates it.

I wouldn't break it out until the playoffs if we're going to do it at all...
no point in giving it away now…
